The Show: Christian Siriano Fall 2013
The Theme: The Golden Age of the Russian Opera
The Color Palette: Black, white, gold, and fuchsia
The Best of the Colletion: This season marks Christian Siriano’s tenth collection and fifth year at
New York Fashion Week. To commemorate the milestone, the Project Runway winner drew inspiration from the golden age of the Russian Opera, the lavish interiors of Saint Petersburg’s Mariinsky Theatre and the Russian military.
Rich hues and luxe fabrics were prominent as sultry models took to the runway draped in buttery leather, faux shearling, gold lame, sequins, and gold beaded mesh. A grouping of metallic fuchsia wool pieces included a strapless a-line cocktail
dress, while the show closed on an eveningwear note with luxe gowns chock full of gold filigree, velvet, black tulle and sequins.
Models also wore Christian’s own shoe collection, which boasted sculptural pumps in metallic and velvet finishes with exaggerated heels and intricate ornamentation, and will be slightly reworked for Payless stores nationwide in the coming months.

The Show: Rebecca Taylor Fall 2013
The Theme: Tomboy with a 70’s British punk edge
The Color Palette: Black, oxblood, midnight blue, rose, camel, charcoal and violet.
The Collection’s Motif: Rebecca deviated from previous seasons’ super-girly aesthetic and drew inspiration instead from glam rock, David Bowie, and the ‘70’s Brit punk movement. The collection incorporated structured silhouettes and various textures including leather, tweed, wool and silk, perfecting the balance of soft femininity and tough masculinity in a tweed peplum tee with leather sleeves and a skinny olive pencil skirt. Another stand out was a twill zip blazer and a studded silk shell paired with a rose camel punk-inspired trouser adorned with faux suspenders and zipper details was markedly tomboyish while the lighter shades gave it a feminine flare.

Show: Venexiana Fall 2013
Theme: Rock Luxury
Color Palette: Rich jewel tones, silver, and gold
The Collection’s Standout Looks:
Look 21 Arose evening gown, complete with crystal embellishment and an open back was just one of Venexiana’s show-stopping looks. The elegance of the gown’s train was set in an appealing contrast to the model’s asymmetrical French twist hair style and studded shoes.
Look 74 One of the show’s final looks, this scalloped sequin cocktail dress was paired with an elegant Russian sable coat that echoed the collection’s combination of luxury and rock-n-roll edge. Completed with studded velvet booties, this shorter confection was a sentiment to the versatility of Venexiana’s lavish and architecturally tailored collection.

The new Gola + Liberty London collection is AMAZING! 19th century fabrics brand Liberty London has been creating incredible prints and fabrications for over a hundred years, and now with the team up with British brand Gola (which has also been in business for more than a hundred years!) you can get some pretty decorative sneakers. Not to leave any detail unwanting, the laces are done in a thick woven ribbon, while the inside of the shoe box is even decorated in a fanciful floral design. Six print colorways are available (in high and low sneaker styles), and I will be sporting the “Quota Melly” style, courtesy of the brand, this week.
Which one is your favorite?
