The new, opulent Dolce & Gabbana color line is due in stores very soon, meanwhile Scarlette Johansson will appear in the collection’s debut advertising campaign, styled to envoke the quintessential sexpot Marilyn Monroe. Now, while I love Marilyn and think she is an incredibly beautiful woman, I’m getting a little tired of the constant Marilyn Monroe referencse in editorial spreads and ad campaigns. Why can’t Scarlett Johansson just be Scarlett Johansson? I think the thing that initially turned me off to this repetitive concept was the Lindsay Lohan as Marilyn Monroe photo spread for New York Magazine in February of 2008. I think this new color line looks fabulous and very Dolce & Gabbana, especially with the Mediteranean blue hues of shadow, but just question the ad direction — thoughts?

I just learned that Aveeno has broadened its product line and will launch a hair care line this spring. The Aveeno Nourish+Hair Care Collection will include seven shampoos and conditioners and one leave-in treatment. The products will retail for $6.49, and include categories that indicate its all about the nourishment, such as Nourish+Moisturize, Nourish+Revitalize, Nourish+Soothe, and Nourish+Volumize (this one is all me). Keep your eyes out for when the products hit the shelves in April.

I’m pretty much smitten with this emerald green chiffon Luella Tank Top, $60.90 (was $87) at EllaMoss.com. The color is just right for the winter, and the cut is a sophisticated take on a tank. The best part about it is the slight ruffle overlay detail that takes it from standard to ultra chic. Add $5.95 for s&h.
