Remember that post on the lovely MiMi by Sorrelli Industrial Layered Drop Earrings a few weeks ago? Sorrelli was kind enough to give me a pair to wear, and I haven’t taken them out of my lobes since (you can see them on me in this pic from the Fashion 2.0 two year Anniversary party), so it’s about time that I hook up one of the FPD readers with a pair as well! The MiMi by the Sorelli line is the younger sister to the signature line, and is full of great stone and chain-adorned pieces. To win the MiMi by Sorrelli Industrial Layered Drop Earrings, you should:
RULES OF ENTRY:
1) Tell us what your most sentimental piece of jewelry is and why (for example, mine is a jade ring that I wear everyday: it was the last gift I received from my Aunt, and I wouldn’t trade it for a million dollars!)
2) Follow Sorrelli on Twitter OR join the Fashion Pulse Daily Facebook Page (if you’re not already doing so) NOTE: let usk now which one you do, and if it’s twitter, be sure to put your twitter @ handle in the comments with your response to #1!
3) USA entrants only, one entry per person, must be 18 or older.
Good luck!
**Contest ends Wednesday, August 4th 2010 at 11:59pm. The winner will be selected using Random.org.
I have a diamond ring my grandmother gave me. She bought this ring when she was in Europe in the 70’s. I treasure it so much and only wear it on special occassions.
1. My most sentimental piece is a diamond cocktail ring, and it has a great story. It was my great-great-grandmothers, and features a one-carat diamond. When my grandmother died it was passed down to me. The diamond used to be part of an earring set, but one of my grandmothers took the earrings and made them into two rings: a man’s and a woman’s.
My grandfather wore the man’s ring.

My most sentimental piece of jewelry was the 18k tri-colored gold flat 1/4 inch thick necklace my grandmother bought for my 21st birthday. My diamond wedding band was special too. Both were stolen by my step-daughter! I keep what I have in a locked fire box now.
I would have to say my engagement ring is the most meaningful piece. I follow Sorrelli on Twitter.

I have a little butterfly pendant necklace my SO bought for me when we were first dating. though the size is a little small for my taste, it has amber stone in it, which he knows i love. so it has meaning to me, although i dont wear it that often
I have a gold cross necklace that I received as a gift for my first communion from my grandmother. She passed away many years ago but that cross always reminds me of her.

My most sentimental piece of jewelry is a cameo ring handed down from my great-grandmother. I remember her always wearing it when I was little and now when I wear it I feel like she is watching over me. I follow Sorrelli Jewelry on Twitter and my Twitter Handle is @AmberGoo
My sentimental piece is a pair of earrings that my 12-yr. old daughter made for me when she was only 7 and being babysat by a crafty friend of mine. She was SO proud of those, and still loves it whenever I wear them (and they’re cute, too!).

A SILVER “PUZZLE RING” I PICKED UP IN ST. THOMAS, VIRGIN ISLANDS. A CONSTANT REMINDER OF A FANTASTIC VACATION WITH AWESOME FRIENDS.
Aah, our wedding rings have all wondered away to a dark drawer.
What remains is a black Tahitian pearl on a kangaroo leather sting, tied on tight around my neck. He gave it to me in a drunken stupor in. Strong and sober, I tossed it back, and strolled on. He gifted it again along the side of the pool, so I grabbed it. I floated away, and it sank down below, as the sun went down. We dove in together, reclaimed it, and sealed the deal of forgiveness . It stays, through shower, through bath, through sleep, while I wake, while I eat, while I write, while I paint, while I work, while I play. It’s there to remember every day.
I have gold cross that I received after my grandmother passed away two years ago. She wore it often; they took it off before they buried her. It reminds me of the great woman of God she was, and I love it!
My most sentimental piece of jewelry is my mom’s wedding ring. She wore it until my dad bought her a whopper on their 25th anniversary and then I wore it until my husband bought me a whopper on our 25th. It’s very small and the diamonds are microscopic, but I wear it now on a chain.

My most sentimental piece of jewelry is my wedding band. I picked it out with my soon to be husband when we were planning our wedding. We picked it up at a second hand jewelry store when we lived out of state, and it reminds me of our special times when we first were married.

My most sentimental piece of jewelry would have to be the earrings my mother gave me which include a rectangular shaped amethyst gemstone in the center & it’s outlined w/ diamond studs around it.
They’re a perfect size as they are studs & I just treasure it because it’s from my mother. It’s seldom I get gifts from my mom so anytime I receive something I cherish it. She’s the best! 😀

Thanks so much for the chance.
I have a brooch that was my grandmother’s. She passed away before I was married, so I pinned it to my bridal bouquet, so she’d be with me when I walked down the aisle.
Mine is a locket my grandfather gave me on my 5th birthday. Nothing valuable in terms of money but it was so nice of him and I used to wear it everyday with a pic of him and my grandma in their younger years in it!
I like your facebook page as Dee G. Thanks again! 🙂

My most sentimental piece of jewelry is a palm tree necklace charm with brown diamonds… it seems silly, but my dad gave it to me for my birthday. He said I deserved “rocks and coconuts” for my excellence. I wear it as a reminder that my dad’s proud of me, which is important to me.

My most sentimental piece of jewelry is my diamond-encrusted signet ring. My mom gave it to me for my 16th birthday and I have worn it every day since! (And that’s a LONG time ago now!) I would be devastated if I lost it.

My favorite piece of jewelry is a ring I bought in Italy about 4 years ago. After my grandmother passed away, I went on vacation with my family to visit the town she was born and raised in – something she had always wanted to do with my sister and I. While on vacation, I used some of the money I was given in her will to buy a ring. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t wear it!

My favorite piece of jewelry is an antique ring that my husband gave me that is monogrammed with my child’s initials. I love it because of the link to the past, my present, and my child’s future. I will give it to her someday.

My most sentimental piece of jewelry is a very old brooch from the late 1800’s that belonged to a relative. I didn’t realize really how old it was until I ended up with some family pictures from the late 1800’s and saw this woman wearing it in a photo.

I treasure a gold heart locket my son gave me for Christmas when he was ten years old. I wear it all the time and treasure it because he picked it out himself and was so proud of it.
I have several pieces of jewelry that are dear to my heart. I don’t think I could narrow it down to just one.
The first is a jade bracelet my mother bought me, but unfortunately it cracked and broke…After that, my mom gave me a jade pendant that I strung onto a gold chain.
The second piece is a tiny gold ring with leaves on it that my father got me when I was very young. It only fits on my pinky finger now.

Sunburst brooch because Ive had it many years now
My Mom went on a trip to China when it was first opened to tourists (about 30 years ago) and brought me back an ancient KEY that was made into a necklace pendant.
It has several letters/Chinese symbols on it and I finally learned that this beautiful piece actually says something like “Blood, Fire and Death in the Village.” Oh well, I still love it!

I wear a rose gold and accent diamond ring everyday. It’s nothing remotely fancy, but it’s got a little quirk and my daddy got it for me.
Mine is my wedding ring because my husband gave it to me.
