One of my New Year’s resolutions for this year is to make an effort to actually wear all the shoes I have in my extensive collection. It’s a good idea, right? After all, it’s easy to get seduced by the latest new shoe trend and commit to snatching a pair off the shelf, but when it comes to actually getting your money’s worth in wear time, that’s a whole different story. I’d like to say I’m making some pretty good progress in my 2013 goal, but that doesn’t mean I’ve completely closed off my mind to new spring trends, and the latest perforated pumpsare providing a whole new temptation for my wandering shopping eye! Perforated details provide the perfect sporty-chic vibe to any classic pump – they’ve got that sexy tomboy vibe while still driving home that you’re still very fiercely feminine – and add a stylish dressed-down appeal while still appearing very sophisticated. Plus, there’s nothing like a little springtime breeze reaching your tired, achy feet without even having to take your shoes off! (Just kidding…. sort of.)

Now that we’ve officially welcomed 2013 with open arms (and open wardrobes!), Pantone’s 2013 Color of the Year, emerald, opens up plenty of exciting opportunities when it comes to beauty, clothing, and accessories – especially jewelry! While last year’s big jewelry trends included chunky bib necklaces, neon accents, and of course, plenty of spikes, 2o13′s baubles are going in an even bolder direction with statement stones and bold geometric shapes, namely in the shade of the year, emerald! And if you’re excited to try adding emerald to your jewelry collection for the new year, but not so stoked about the price that normally comes with actual emerald jewelry, I’ve rounded up some great on-trend pieces to help you rock the look for less! Bold bangles, graphic earrings, and more spikes – peep some of our favorites in the links below!

From our friends at thefind.com:
It’s mind-boggling to think of how multi-million-dollar designer empires all started with something as humble and simple as a sketch in a notepad, and for Oliver Peoples’ founder and creative director Larry Leight, one of those vintage sketches was the perfect way to represent and celebrate 25 years of stylish success. Yes, believe it or not, the eyewear empire has been serving up sunnies, frames, and fashionable everyday glasses for a whopping 25 years now, and in order to celebrate a quarter century of stunning optical style, the brand has released a limited-edition XXV collection, inspired by one of Larry Leight’s earliest sketches from 1989 – just two years after the brand’s launch. The XXV frames have a vintage feel with its thick frames and padded temple design, but adds modern details like custom engraving and silver hardware to complete the look. Available in both optical and sun versions, the XXV collection comes in a variety of tortoise designs, tiger patterns, as well as several solid shades – just make sure to scoop up your favorite before they’re all gone!
