For Rag & Bone’s Resort 2018 collection, creating new riffs on essential staple pieces was the primary goal, largely manifesting itself in luxurious fabrics such as cashmere and velvet. With an emphasis on functionality, color, and premium fabrics, the range of pieces draw inspiration from American, British, and Japanese styles sport, sportswear, and work wear styles. Knitwear plays a big part in this lineup, as shown by a crewneck pullover in black, pink, and white stripes, as well as a cream colored embellished piece of the same style. Also notable are flared denim bottoms in both cropped and full length, plush sweatsuits, and understated, positive lettering that read “Merci,” “Have a Nice Day,” and “Let’s Dance.”

Spring? Are You There?

by Julia DiNardo

P1110564
As long as the temperature hovers at 50 degrees or warmer, I’m okay with spring coming a little later this year. With a glass half full approach, I can look to those pieces in my wardrobe that I don’t feel I’ve fully taken advantage of wearing in the colder months, and give them one extra opportunity to feel amazing in them before they get tucked  away for the season. As I’ve gotten older and acquired a taste for particular brands, I’ve noticed that they always look better together. It’s unified my look, and let the eye beholding them rest on consistency of shape and design.

Monday Morning

by Julia DiNardo

P1110146

Mondays have the tendency to…not really be that cool. They can cause a lot of anxiety and trepidation for the lot of us, despite loving life, loving our jobs, and/or loving our paychecks. I’m thrilled for those of us that have the day off today, but next Monday will surely come, and more of the same feeling will creep in again. Lately, in order to try to kick away the Monday blues I’ve been starting the week with an outfit that I absolutely love that is no frills, easy to wear, and versatile for a variety of occasions.

I’ve also been starting the week with an early morning photo session, when the sun is in that special place, and I haven’t had coffee yet, which could potentially be a perilous endeavor. Wearing what I love and doing what I love, first thing in the morning on the first day of the work week has helped to set the precedent for positivity and productivity for the rest of my days, spent grinding away on various work projects, some considered to be chores I’d rather not be doing.

Sometimes it’s just taking a few minutes to slow down, taking a quiet morning moment to read a section of the newspaper at the table, or listening to your favorite song while on the way to work, can reset you mentally and get you to accept what you need to do, and give you the peace of mind to get through it.

Blazers Get the Fall Treatment with Leather Lapel Details (thefind Guest Post)

by Julia DiNardo

From our friends at thefind.com:

Blazers and their slightly-more-structured cousin, the tuxedo jacket, have been a style staple for the casual fashionista everywhere. Throw one on over a classic tee and jeans and you’ve instantly transformed your look from lazy to luxe. Top off a tank and shorts and you’ve got yourself a night-out ensemble that’s totally sophisticated and sexy. The possibilities are endless, and the transition power is always impressive, and now just in time for fall, some of our favorite styles are getting even more stylish with chic leather details. Leather lapels are a subtle yet sexy way to edge up your favorite suited-up look – it’s just as sleek and polished, but with the slightest rock ‘n roll touch that’s perfect for pairing with your new spiky heels or moto ankle boots! It’s the perfect transition piece from summer to fall, if you’re not quite ready to break out the full-on leather jacket!
