A great way to show personal style is pairing a row of bracelets, mixed together from your personal collection, in an eclectic way, but still having some similar vein of cohesion. For me, the perfect mix includes vintage and new items with clean, architectural, sculptural details, and aesthetics that repeat nicely and feel fashion forward while nodding to great design of the past, without alluding exactly to what is currently on-trend. I know that’s a mouthful and it’s hard to describe, but that’s just me and my style! Courtesy of Poshlocket.com (more about the site below), I worked a few different bracelet options into my wardrobe and the results were simply stunning.
In the pics from my “Mad Men” inspired outfit, I wanted to work in some jewelry that would compliment the brass buttons on my skirt, so I layered a vintage cream and gold bangle from RiceandBeansVintage with Poshlocket’s Chloe Multi Chain Bracelet in the middle (btw it has an AWESOME magnetic closure on it), and finished off with a vintage clasp chain bracelet that looked similar in design to the Chloe Bracelet.
For a cocktail affair and film screening of L’Odyssée de Cartier at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, I wanted to compliment the metallic of my Magnes Sisters clutch, nails, and Pretty Polly embellished tights with some modern geometric shapes to go with the angularity of my strong-shouldered dress silhouette. Poshlocket’s Nikki Cone Cuff set and Harlow Arrow Bangle did the trick to balance of the look without overstating the shine factor. Although I wore these bracelets for evening, I know they would look amazing with a casual, slouchy knit crewneck sweater thrown on over jeans!
