Inspired by nature and Impressionist art, rich tones such as olive, Viking red, cognac, and soft floral appliqué adornment mingle with anticipated neutrals in silhouettes both signature and new at Henri Bendel for fall 2016. This season the W 57th Schoolbag debuts, and the Soho Backpack proves that the back-strapping style isn’t going away any time soon. As the weather will inevitably turn colder, expect a great array of accessories to stylishly combat the chill, such as leather gloves, scarves, capes and fur hats. And don’t forget about the jewels! Lovely pearl-motif pieces in a deep, dark hue make their way into the fall lineup, which, coupled with the Impressionist art inspiration, feels like the right moment for a fashionable revival.

Boy, are you in for a treat! I’ve got a sneak peak at Henri Bendel for Spring 2014, featuring amazing handbags, wallets, jewelry, sunglasses, luggage, scarves, and more. If you’ve been feeling a major “treat yourself” moment coming on, this upcoming season’s goodies at the storied retailer will surely push you to go for it. I’m especially excited about Henri Bendel Luxe, a new a premium line of layerable necklaces, pendants, earrings, bangles and rings, taking a nod from the aesthetics found in fine jewelry, for a price that works for all. You’ll find a variety of semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals set in color tones of 18K gold, rose gold, and platinum for that sophisticated look. You won’t have to wait too long to shop the pieces, with most arriving in store in April, and the rest following in May and June.

A wallet purchase is a very personal decision; at least for me, it must meet specific criteria, as it is something that is used multiple times per day, every day, until it’s either lost or falls apart. It’s much like a wedding ring or cell phone — it will constantly be on hand, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. I actually have a wallet “graveyard;” a drawer in which the contents include various knick knacks, with wallets that have been given to me as gifts and just aren’t up to par for the needs that I have. Those needs: must be small enough to fit into a zippered wallet or cell phone pouch in all of my handbags, must have some sort of pouch or zippered compartment, a bright, easy-to-spot color for ease of quickly finding it in a handbag, and plenty of space for my various credit, gift, and business cards, and oh yeah; it should be sleek, look and be well-made, and stylish! To me, it doesn’t seem like too much to ask for, but the hunt for this ‘dream’ wallet has been ongoing for a year, leaving my current wallet in a state of decrepit decay, too embarrassing to even display a photo of its status.
Luckily, it has finally been found! I first saw the Henri Bendel Studded Mini Wallet ($98) at a press preview, and waited with baited breathe until it came out in-store and online this past week. Available in three colors, it measures in at a cool 3.25×3.25″, meets all of my requirements, and has a cowhide leather, soft pebble effect finish. It’s absolutely stunning, and I’m anticipating it will wear quite well, and I might even pick up the the matching Henri Bendel Carlyle Tote or Carlyle Small Barrel Bag!
