Ready to talk nails? This season, we saw quite a bit more of the “natural nail” look, which means find shade of pink and beige that will work perfectly with your skin tone. We also saw some fabulous dark shades of deep red, geometric nail art, rich metallic hues, a new twist on a French, and of course, some really blinged out nail looks. Read on for FPD’s top nail looks and the products used so that you can try this at home!
At Kate Spade, Deborah Lippmann created an “uptown girl” nail that was more of an extension of the skin, playing to the natural trend with a long almond shape, and using two coats of “Naked,” an ultra sheer beige, followed by one coat of Gel Lab Top Coat to add some gel manicure-like shine.
Julie Kandalec for essie went for a matte, ever so slightly mauve nail to let the clothes do the talking on the runway at Hervé Leger this season, using one coat of “lady like,” one coat of “good to go top coat,” and finished off with “matte about you top coat.” Matte top coats add such a versatility to your existing lineup of polishes, making an easy finish change a breeze!
