[The Chanel eyeglasses and my new $35 look-a-like pair]
I’d like to consider myself a reluctant ‘eyewear aficianado’; I’m not happy about the fact that I have to wear glasses, however I’ve made the most of it by owning copious amounts of them so that they better fit in with my fashionable nature. Mainly I prefer the plastic frames, but am always on the lookout for a cool vintage pair or cool new color combination I’ve yet to try. Most rcently, I’ve been lusting after a pair of Chanel 2010 eyeglasses; I tried them on, but they were WAY out of my budget! Luckily, GlassesUSA had recently contacted me to try out a complimentary pair of prescription glasses, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to add another pair to my collection. What I didn’t expect to find was a very similar pair of eyeglasses to the Chanel ones I lusted after — the Adam Black eyeglasses, that for $35 is a steal for BOTH the frames and the lenses.
I decided to to put them to the ultimate style test, and wore them for three days of New York Fashion Week -did they past the test? Yes! I definitely got a lot of compliments, and felt right at home in them. The lenses were crystal clear, they fit perfectly without having to be adjusted at all, and looked great with a variety of looks, from dressy to more casual. Most of our eyeglasses are manufactured in China and the United States, and with shipping at $8.95, I’m not complaining; it’s hard to beat the price and style quotient, even if you go to a bix box retailer such as Wal-Mart’s optical center. Overall, I’m very pleased with the eyeglasses and next time I feel the urge to splurge on some eyeglass frames, I will definitely check out their offerings as my first stop online!
