The weekend is over, the weather is frigid, but I’m going to try to just keep on smiling through it all. Having two vacations booked in March is certainly an impetus to grin and bare the blustery, unreasonable precipitation and temps, but also was taking a walk down memory lane this weekend. When I was in college, I spent most of my time living in Nolita, a dream come true for this Pittsburgher to be surrounded by Little Italy and all things cool in Soho and the Lower East Side enveloping her. Fashion Pulse Hubby and I revisited the spot where I used to live when we first started dating, and although a few things in the neighborhood remain the same, many of them have changed since 2002.
We ventured across the street and took these photos in front of a building that used to be a police precinct turned into luxury apartments, where Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford were rumored to have lived in the 1990s. It always looked so solemn and idyllic to me, and the ivy-wrought iron gates pop against the slushy urban landscape. I logged 16,000 steps that day on my Fitbit, so warmth and comfort were key to comprising my look. A roomy bag with strap lengths long enough to sit on my ultra padded shoulders was a must, along with jewelry that can peek out from amongst the layers, cold weather accessories, practical shoes, and my “double bubble,” a combination of a bubble vest with a bubble coat, ensure premium warmth.
