The Show: Vivienne Tam
The Theme: Tam’s Fall 2014 collection was inspired by Mogao caves in the Dunhuang region of China.
The Color Palette: Detailed patterns in black, Hues of green, nudes and pops of blue, red and pink.
The Signature Piece: Tam’s sheer sleeve mesh overlay at-the knee, signature red dress was absolutely breathtaking. The attention to detail was stunning and quite obvious, as the patterns, which ran through the center bodice across the waist and through the skirt were varied and intricate. Watching this piece make its way down the run way was assurance of Tam’s design signature at play, with the garment itself appeared to be more of an ornate work of art than a garment ready to be worn.

The Show: Nonoo
The Theme: Natural light and space
The Color Palette: Neutral hues of white, blue, black, and gray
The Signature Piece: Oversized coats, fur, and versatile dresses dominated Nonoo’s fall 2014 collection, but Misha Nonoo’s plaid constructed blazer with a white fur trim is definitely a show stopper. The tailoring of the blazer exudes professional sophistication brought to the sportswear category, while the fur trim adds a bit of originality, personality, and intensity.
The Show: Emerson By Jackie Fraser-Swan
The Theme: Shiny Austerity
The Color Palette: Black and gray with a pop of pink
The Signature Piece: Fraser-Swan’s Fall 2014 collection was composed of androgyny, edge, and femininity. The dark colors, loosely proportioned jackets, and printed sweaters were fresh, young, and cool. Each piece brought to the surface a personality of its own, but Fraser-Swan’s sequined jumpsuit was a stunner. Heavily textured and padded, this jumpsuit exudes ski slope chic. If this piece isn’t making you jump for joy at the thought of six more weeks of winter, I don’t know what will.

The Show: Jill Stuart
The Theme: Young and flirty
The Color Palette: A gamut of black, sparkle, metallic and pops of red, pink and navy.
The Signature Piece: Stuart’s over sized camel textured wool coat is a piece that is currently coveted by fashionistas across the globe. Stuart’s inclusion of this piece is comforting, as it reveals that this silhouette of wool coat will certainly continue on as a wardrobe staple for many seasons to come. Additionally, Stuart’s color choice lends to this piece’s longevity, as its neutral tone can easily find itself paired with any color and garment type.
