Finding an old lipstick or nail polish that was “totally your color”from years ago is like being reunited with a best friend, sometimes one that has been long forgotten. I forgot about the deep hue of navy mixed with delicate silvery bits that I adored in high school, considered to be my first “designer” nail polish; the first time I had spent more than $2 on a bottle. At first I tried to concoct a combination of shades that I already had at home in order to get the same effect, but eventually succumbed to buying a bottle of the real deal. When I spotted it again in this collection, thanks to the essie starry starry night shade, I was immediately transported back to that time in my life, which is so interesting to think about the memories one bottle of navy and silver nail polish can hold.
Before I digress any further on my walk down high school’s memory lane, let’s take a pause here so that you can get all of the details on the collection! Available now on essie.com for $8.50 per bottle, this six-piece collection is in honor of essie’s 35th anniversary, and is a walk down memory lane of some of the brand’s most popular colors, which include (picture above, from clockwise) bikini with a martini (2006), cabana boy (2005), sequin sash (2005), life of the party (2002), birthday suit (1981), and starry starry night (1985).
Which shade is your favorite? Does one of them take you on a walk down memory lane too?
The limited edition essie retro revival collection will also be available at fine salons and beauty destinations nationwide in January 2016.
