[Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam, $28, Sephora.com]
Dry shampoo is a true go-to for many women on the go, and can be a lifesaving beauty staple for use in between washes. However, the product in its most well known form, obvious from its name, can sometimes dry out the scalp and cause hair to become course in texture, among other issues such as expediting the fading of colored hair. Luckily, the newest trend in hair care provides an easy solution to this problem:
powder-less dry shampoo. This is otherwise known as mousse or foam dry shampoo, which can seem like a contradiction since both mousse and foam are known to be wet in texture and can actually weigh down hair. However, products like
Ouai’s Dry Shampoo Foam and
Drybar’s Detox Whipped Dry Shampoo Foam will immediately make you forget these previous assumptions.
Both formulas go on dry and won’t add bulk or ruin a recent blowout, but instead will actually refresh hair, absorb all excess oil, and add a boost of volume. What do you think, will you give it a try?

In honor of Marilyn Monroe, Drybar has teamed up with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment to introduce a new, limited time style – the “The Old Fashioned,” which is exactly what you’d imagine of a starlet’s coif during Monroe’s heyday. For the month of August at all Drybar locations, you too can give the retro-glam hairstyle a whirl. And, it’s the same price as Drybar’s other menu blow out styles ($40 in NYC, $35 elsewhere). Channel the glamour of the style while you relax at a gorgeous marble bar and watch the FOREVER MARILYN: THE BLU-RAY COLLECTION as it streams on large flatscreen TVs throughout the salon.
