Rain in NYC can be just absolutely, positively brutal. Considering that one must manage to navigate the rush hour sidewalks with an umbie, bags, and potentially teetering in not exactly rain-friendly shoes, all the while dipping and dodging in order to not get sidelined by someone else’s umbrella spoke…it takes a special set of skills to make it unscathed. So Bogs Footwear’s motto sounds just perfect right now; “Comfort isn’t an option, it’s a requirement.” Rainproof, comfy shoes, that I won’t necessarily have to change out of are so important to me, and thanks to this bout of unpleasant weather, I was able to give two pairs of Bogs a solid run for their money.
The Bogs Classic Short (pictured above), has hand-lasted rubber over a four way stretch inner bootie, is 100% waterproof with 7mm waterproof Neo-Tech™ insulation, and also possesses a non-marking, self-cleaning outsole with the signature Bogs Max-Wick™ moisture-wicking lining, Aegis antimicrobial odor protection insole, and will keep your feet dry, and toasty even when the temperature goes down to -40 Fahrenheit.
The second style I took for a whirl was the Bogs Seymour; a sleek, sturdy, yet light weight 100% waterproof boot with slightly pebbled waterproof leather and rubber and coupled with a Bogs Max-Wick™ moisture-wicking lining. Warm? MOST certainly; and my tootsies were without a doubt dry. If you’re in the market for a new rain footwear option, these are only two of the dozens of styles and color choices available for men and women; I like my rain gear black, but maybe you prefer bright! Find your favorite amongst the men’s, women’s, and children’s offerings here at BogsFootwear.com.
