I’ve been smitten, actually more like fascinated, with Balenciaga since the inception of my fashion career when I got the chance to meet the modest Nicolas Ghesquiere and learned that some designers can be extremely talented and successful, without having to also be arrogant. Since then, the brand has been on my aspirational list of items I’d like to someday possess, however, even at places such as Barney’s Warehouse Sale I’ve never seen clothes, bags, shoes, or accessories that were cheap enough to rationalize. Until I went to the Balenciaga shop at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, an upscale outlet mall in New York, and discovered these pretty suede flats. Coming in at $225, they weren’t exactly a steal, but rather a nice investment, as I know I would wear them way more than five-inch heels that cost the same price. I’ve been loving two-toned, cap toes looks lately, and the ruching on the toe caps add an extra touch to make this more than your average black flat. I just sprayed them with water and stain protector, and they will hit the streets of New York City for the first time this week! What’s one indulgence that you’ve been absolutely dying to possess?
