If you are scoffing and thinking “as if we don’t have enough TV shows about fashion already!”, let me first ask you this: ever wondered what happened during the last 24 hours leading up to the fashion shows each season? Panic and chaos, maybe? Any last-minute touch-ups or complete reworkings? Or, have you ever wondered what fashion designers are really like? There might already be documentaries about Valentino, March Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, and Isaac Mizrahi, but what about the industry’s newer faces – Jeremy Scott? Alexander Wang?
I don’t know about you, but I’m answering all those questions with a definite “yes”. Thanks to a new TV series from the Sundance Channel’s Full Frontal Fashion, we will get to take a closer look at the realities of the industry masked by highly dramatized reality shows, as well as the personalities that have hatched our favorite collections for the upcoming season. “The Day Before”, Sundance’s original four-part series, documents the intriguing final 36 hours before the runway shows of Alexander Wang, Diane von Furstenberg, Jeremy Scott, and Narciso Rodriguez in New York, Peter Copping for Nina Ricci in Paris, and Donatella Versace for Versace in Milan. On the show’s website, the esteemed director, Loic Prigent, revealed just enough to make us thirst for more: “We explored the energy of New York with young labels like Alexander Wang, grandes dames like Diane von Furstenberg, energy and humor with Jeremy Scott, and couturelike precision with Narciso Rodriguez. In Paris, you see the sweetness and romanticism of Nina Ricci, and the extreme everything of Donatella Versace in Milan.”
“The Day Before” will premiere at 10 pm on September 8th. New 30-minute episodes will air each night at 10 pm through September 13. Mark this on your calendar and don’t forget to take over the remote on September 8, and of course watch Sundance’s other Full Frontal Fashion offerings in the meantine!

Explore your inner moto girl this fall with motorcycle inspired style. With all of the amazing leather jackets and leather vests, studded ankle booties and zippered Alexander Wang handbags there is plenty to choose from. Even if your style is more Upper East Side than Easy Rider I’m sure you’ll be tempted with these irresistible options.
Yes, you’ve been seeing all of the leather motorcycle jackets complete with requisite zippers, asymmetric zipper detailing, chrome studs and buckles. The ultimate daddy of all the biker jackets this season is the Balmain leather motorcycle jacket that is cut to a fitted silhouette with peaked shoulders, epaulets and chain swags.
In addition to the trendsetting Alexander Wang hip belt and McQueen stud textured resin cuff, other motorcycle inspired accessories include the chunky heel Juicy Couture motorcycle boot. This Juicy boot has just the right shape on the toe and the brass studded strapping completes the look. I’ve been wearing my traditional Hunter Wellies for years, but these limited edition Festival Hunter Wellies are giving me an urge to hop on this customized Chanel bike (used by Karl Lagerfeld in a recent photo shoot). I can imagine myself zooming down the Champs-Élysées on this motorcycle wearing the ultimate leather moto jacket from Balmain. Vroom vroom!

The short romper jumpsuit has grown up. No longer just for playdates at the playground. Now available in sophisticated styles and sizes for grown ups, the summer romper is one way to keep cool and maintain your style credibility. Honed in fabrics like silk, knit and linen these delicate little short jumpsuits look very pretty dressed up with a pair of ankle tie wedge espadrilles.
We spotted a few short romper jumpsuits and are coveting them as our go-to summer uniform. Haven’s ‘Amy’ silk print romper embraces a subtle ethnic tonal print with a blouse effect and tie waist. Pair it with an eye-catching pair of beaded wedge espadrilles. Emblazoned with the signature zigzag pattern the Missoni Fortaleza woven jumpsuit indulges our search for “La Dolce Vita” with a spaghetti strap tank and flowing shorts. The Missoni jumpsuit is perfect for a bikini cover up or night on the town. Twin the Missoni jumpsuit is a pair of Louboutin light blue ankle tie espadrilles. Elizabeth and James’ black silk summer romper will be the urban girl’s best friend. A decidedly daring jumper for the perfect downtown look. Don a pair of black caged sandals or beach-ify the look with a pair of black ankle tie espadrilles. Alexander Wang’s edgy zipper-embellished silk short romper is made even cooler with a graphic marble print. Pair the oversized short jumpsuit with a pair of pretty lavender hued Louboutin espadrilles.
