I admire crazy high heeled shoes or platforms and sometimes wear them, however the heels that provide the greatest comfort get the most mileage when it comes to life in NYC. Therefore, I’m glad to not only be an ambassador for Aerosoles, getting to wear the latest styles, but also to see in advance what the brand has in store for the coming months.

The Best of Aerosoles for Spring 2013!

This past week I was able to check out the latest styles from Aerosoles for the upcoming spring collection at the lovely Blow Bar Meat Packing District location, which meant three things: blow outs, manicures, and new shoes — what’s not to love? Already in stores and online, you can begin to think about days where the temperatures breaches above 60 degrees, which may just be right around the corner, or get yourself a pair of new sandals and book a tropical getaway to stave off the warm-weather cravings. As an Aerosoles brand ambassador, I am so fortunate to try out some of these styles first-hand and share with you my edits on the most comfortable, stylish, and affordable shoes around. Fall 2013 Fashion Week Day 1: What FPD Wore

I usually remember to do my outfit photo of the day…at the end of the day. Oops. Luckily, I coerced my friend Amber Kallor to take this pic just after I had my hair done at the lovely Garnier Blow Out Bar private cocktail party, located on the 2nd floor of the Time Warner Center, and now open to the public for blow outs and hairdos Feb 8th and 9th.

Baby It’s Cold Outside…

So…I’m going to put the pause button on taking outfit photos outside! As a person who is ALWAYS cold, it’s a little hard for me to pose for an extended period of time outside while trying to get the lighting and background perfect, when it is literally 10 degrees and the wind is rather blustery and has other plans for me (like to blow my hat off of my head or glasses off of my face -it happened last week). When I do have to bare the cold, I love a peekaboo of color peering out from the bottom of my coat via a bright pant, or a hint of a bright shade via a bit of a cuff or the top of the sweater saying hello.

I love the vibrancy of this color combination, as well as the slightly textured feel to it via a fuzzy alpaca cardie, soft brushed cord pant, a silky soft cotton blouse, and suede boots. The trick to keeping it complimentary opposed to clashing (in a bad way) is to keep the color palette to four hues, maximum, and minimize the mixing of patterns and prints.

The final effect of the footwear choice could easily throw the look off, so I wanted to go with a neutral shade that avoided comparisons to the other colors in the look. The taupe found in the Caramel Boots added some color balance, the shearling kept it casual, while the small buckle at the top and streamlined silhouette kept it polished. I made the look even more office-friendly by adding a Sorrelli cocktail ring for day — one of my favorite transitional pieces.

Three Popular Fall/Winter Footwear Styles…And How to Wear Them!

There are so many amazing footwear silhouettes and trends for fall/winter, but some of them may be tricky when it comes to figure out what to pair with them. Here’s my two cents on how to best style these particular footwear trends in order to make them, and you, look the very best! I’ve used some recent styles that I’ve been wearing (courtesy of Aerosoles) to explain the trends and how you can do it and make it easily work for your wardrobe.

Mixing Textures and Patterns

This can certainly be a tough one, but here’s a great rule of thumb: pick up on one of the colors in the pattern, and wear something of that exact hue for your pants, dress, or skirt. Another option: since these shoes are primarily brown, what other shades go with it? Navy would look great, as well as a vibrant, or even a deep burgundy red. Just be wary of working too many colors into the mix — for the rest of your wardrobe then, pick up on a similar color then in the show, or go with a neutral — for example wear a cream top.
