To commemorate their long-standing relationship with music and 50th anniversary of the 1460 boot named after its release on April 1st, 1960, Dr. Martens had invited ten contemporary musicians to cover cult classics that embody the brand’s attitude. Collaborating with ten (both emerging and established) directors, the tracks are translated to videos which will appear consecutively on the anniversary blog. The short films are artful and absent of product placement-like footage, instead devoted to marking the intimacy between the work boot and musical subcultures over the past five decades. A limited production of 1,460 1460 boots along with 1,461 1461’s will be released to select vendors world wide, both styles available in Black and Cherry Red. Distinguished by “polished pebble leather coupled with gold heel loops and eyelets,” these exclusive Dr. Martens appeal to both devout collectors and new converts of the durable boot that is rich with cultural history.
