Set in Style: The Jewelry of Van Cleef & Arpels at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum

Housed at the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum located on E 91^st Street and 5^th Avenue in New York City, the jewelry of Van Cleef & Arpels has claimed the featured spot within the museum’s exhibitions running now through June 5th, 2011 (click here for the museum hours).  The first floor has entirely been dedicated to showcase the sparkle and shine of the jewels, diamonds, precious stones, and golden jewelry, accessories and time-pieces that Van Cleef & Arpels had artistically designed and created during the 20^th century.  With over 350 pieces of polished art works, the exhibit also includes the original sketches and design draw-ups of the pieces before their execution as amazing baubles.  Encased in protective glass bubbles, each piece represents the genius, contribution, and art of Van Cleef & Arpels to timeless notions of fashion, jewelry, and style.
