The Perfect Party Look for 2012

You want to be belle of the ball, the prom princess, the star of that big occasion, but come down to earth and you realize that your budget just won’’t run to the designer dress that’s fresh off the catwalk.  So how do you achieve the look of your dreams on a limited budget?

Firstly, use your ingenuity.  Every woman is creative when it comes to achieving the perfect party look.  There are now lots of opportunities to look as though you just stepped off the catwalk at Versace while wearing a dress from a high street fashion store.  Budget doesn’’t need to limit your dreams anymore, and to prove it, take a browse through the New Look catalogue and you’ll find that the affordable prom dress isn’’t a dream.  See yourself in their mink corsage prom dress, with a sweetheart neckline, and dramatic satin corsage stretching from waist to mini skirt hem, and feel like a million dollars.  Or picture yourself stepping out of a stretch limo and onto the red carpet in Ruby Prom’s Madison evening gown in ravishing pink satin, with a ruched waistline from hip to bodice and flowing skirt.

You’’re certain of a glittering evening, and of attracting every eye when you make your entrance in the Parisian gold sequin peplum dress from New Look, an unusual styling with gold sequins on the frilled peplum waisted bodice, deeply scooped neckline and black bodycon skirt.  It just cries out to be worn with outrageously high black stiletto heels and a sparkly matador jacket.

The Parisian Gold Sequin Peplum Dress from New Look, affordable elegance.

And talking of stilettos – remember that to achieve the perfect party look you need to be planning not just to buy that dream dress, but the accessories that will complete the look.  Liven up the classic cut of a slinky black silk maxi dress with a pearl collar or macramé necklace and matching bracelet.  If you are planning a sophisticated swept-up chignon, then emphasize the line of your cheek and neck with chandelier earrings that look ultra-feminine and catch the light as they move.

A clutch bag is the ideal evening accessory, and you might find a perfect example to complement your party dress in a retro or vintage store or from one of the quality charity shops.  What our grandmothers saw as old-fashioned is right on trend for 2012.
