Go Prep School Chic in a Sleek Plaid Blazer (From thefind.com)
From our friends at thefind.com:
Bold, bright patterns have been having a serious style moment in the past year or so – some of which we had never even seen before this whole print craze hit the fashion jackpot – and they’ve been serving as a fun, vibrant way to spice up all those monochromatic, cozy basics we collected from last fall and winter. From newly rejuvenated prints like southwest-inspired patterns and tapestry to timeless trends like plaid, paisley, and polka dots, it’s fun to see our favorite seasonal staples steer away from solids and get the printed treatment. As a pattern, tartan/plaid has the power to conjure up a variety of style scenarios and fashion fads, from Scottish kilts to glam rock and of course, private school uniforms, and we’re calling inspiration from the latter to add a fun preppy vibe to our fall look. A nice tailored plaid blazer looks sophisticated without verging on boring, adding a dash of Gossip Girl-esque charm to any work ensemble or casual outfit. Pair with a silky blouse, skinny slacks and sensible pumps for 9-5, then switch to coated jeans, a muscle tank, and chunky moto booties to complete the perfect edgy (yet still perfectly put-together) after-hours ensemble.

Maison Martin Margiela with H&M Collection – Check Out Pieces from the Collection
[All Images via H&M- Click on Images to Enlarge]
On November 15th, over 250 H&M stores worldwide as well as online will be the home of the Maison Martin Margiela with H&M Collection! We expect, however, that this will be brief, as there’s a good chance the items will sell out rather swiftly by judging the designs and the power of this unique collaboration. Considered re-editions, Maison Martin Margiela has taken their most innovative garments and recreated them for H&M so that everyone can experience the brand — great idea! Experience shades of white, silver, black, red, and nude found in silhouettes that epitomize the brand’s signature uses of volume, proportion, find tailoring, and Trompe l’Oeil effects.
We’ve included some of our favorite pieces from the collection via the slideshow above – which item do you want to get your hands on?

Three Popular Fall/Winter Footwear Styles…And How to Wear Them!
There are so many amazing footwear silhouettes and trends for fall/winter, but some of them may be tricky when it comes to figure out what to pair with them. Here’s my two cents on how to best style these particular footwear trends in order to make them, and you, look the very best! I’ve used some recent styles that I’ve been wearing (courtesy of Aerosoles) to explain the trends and how you can do it and make it easily work for your wardrobe.

Mixing Textures and Patterns
This can certainly be a tough one, but here’s a great rule of thumb: pick up on one of the colors in the pattern, and wear something of that exact hue for your pants, dress, or skirt. Another option: since these shoes are primarily brown, what other shades go with it? Navy would look great, as well as a vibrant, or even a deep burgundy red. Just be wary of working too many colors into the mix — for the rest of your wardrobe then, pick up on a similar color then in the show, or go with a neutral — for example wear a cream top.
