Fresh scents for the season go perfectly well with the warmer spring weather and new fashion offerings, so I was thrilled to test out the newest from L’Occitane, a luxury fragrance collection comprised of these four fine options: Jasmin & Bergamote, Magnolia & Müre (blackberry),Vanille & Narcisee, and Thé Vert & Bigarade (Japanese green tea and bitter orange). Created by L’Occitane master performer Katrine Dubreuil, the scents pay homage to the renowned Grasse region of France, the perfume capital of the world, and bring together some of the rarest, finest natural essences to create these unusual yet highly appealing fragrance combinations.
I thought that before smelling them, I knew what my favorites would be, but was pleasantly surprised to discover that the fragrance found from each of the elegant bottles resulted in a four-way tie! Even with scents I usually am not drawn to (patchouli, for instance), I found a sensory mesmeric quality and harmony amongst the combinations that I had hardly expected. With precious extracts including magnolia from the Far East, blackberry from the south of France, green tea from Japan, jasmine from Grasse and Egypt, bergamot from Italy, vanilla from Madagascar, and narcissus from France, it truly is a challenge to choose a most-loved coupling of the ingredients. Personally, I’ve been wearing Jasmin & Bergamote every day, which balances a deep, sensual aroma with a lighter, floral freshness perfect for day or evening.
The eau de toilette La Collection de Grasse creations arrive in stores and online at USA.Loccitane.com today, April 17th ($75 for the 75ml bottle), just in time to pick up for yourself or as the perfect mother’s day present! Goody Thick Fix brush, with a comfy rubber handle and natural boar bristles and elousGrip brushes feature a Comfort Gel handle and Ion+Tourmaline infused ball-tip bristles.
I recently checked out the latest and greatest from Goody, which every season seems to add more innovative products that are ultra-simple to use to achieve flawless hairstyles. Included in the latest lineup was the TangleFix brush, a variety of Ouchless elastics (I’m loving the Ouchless Ribbon Elastics),and QuickStyle tools, alongside some classic and limited edition summer styles. Some of the latest iterations include tribal and animal prints, glitter and shimmer, and colors inspired by the runway such as “Vogue Violet” and “Couture Coral.”
I’m absolutely loving the on-trend Doublewear options, which can be worn as jewelry AND hair accessories, and of course, my good old every day staple, the Goody Spin Pin. Not sure how to put in a Spin Pin? Check out this six-second tutorial I demo’ed for my friends at fashion week (filmed by Dina of Eye4Style).
See the slideshow above for some of my top picks from the preview, with all Goody items coming in at incredibly affordable prices and found at mass retailers such as Target , Walgreens, CVS, and Wal-Mart, now, with more options hitting shelves in May.
For fall at Nautica, expect THE most amazing jackets, that in addition to being incredibly stylish, promise to hold up against the elements while certainly keeping you warm. Nautica didn’t forget that you need some garments to wear underneath, of course, so expect some riffs on classical nautical stripes found in silky blouses, stretchy knits, and perfectly draped dresses.
Another much-loved garment was a poppy red and vibrant cobalt blue floral blouse, which we’d love to pair with the army green and black leather sleeved jacket – sure to be a big seller this fall. See above for selections from the brand’s fall 2013 press preview, and get ready to shop the items at Nautica.com in a few months.
Bronzing properly can be very, very tricky, so luckily, two of my favorite people, Kristin Booker of Fashion.Style.Beauty and Keri Blair, Senior Makeup Artist with MAC Cosmetics, demo the proper tools and application of this makeup item in this Beauty Extract Segment for Style Coalition TV! Watch and learn ( I sure did)!
