Having your hair color is SUCH a timely and expensive process that in an ideal world, it would be nice to get an additional color boost at home, in between treatments, right? It’s actually EXTREMELY easy to do with the new launch of John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss, something usually applied only in the salon and now brought to you to administer at home to continually receive brilliant, shiny color with great depth and dimension, week after week.

My sweet husband had literally 30 seconds to snap a pic of me, without being fully zipped and bundled up, so apologies if it isn’t the most glam, but it has been FREEZING here in New York City!! I’m going to use my own advice from the feature I wrote for IFB to find creative places to take outfit photos at in the winter, but in the meanwhile, I couldn’t wait to share with you the latest products that I’ve been testing: a clothing and jewelry subscription service called LE TOTE.
Here’s how it works: sign up for an account, designate your sizing, and select the items you see that you love. Next, choose if you’d like a “jewelry box” (3 jewelry pieces at a time) or “boutique box” (3 garments and two accessories at a time), with free shipping each way. Wear the pieces as long and for as many time as you like, and as soon as you send the items back, then you’ll receive the next box full of goodies. Brands found in the box are varied, oftentimes found at some of my favorite retailers such as Anthropologie, Shopbop, Nordstrom, NastyGal, and Piperlime.

Fashion Pulse Flash of the Week: New Clinique, NARS, Suave, more
There’s no better time than now, with New Year’s resolutions fluttering all around, to start a great skin regimen. Clinique Superdefense SPF 20 Daily Defense Moisturizer, $47, will hydrate with vitamins C and E, barley and wheat germ extract, soothe with sea whip and caffeine, and protect with SPF 20 that includes full UVA/UVB protection . The brand new product JUST became available at Clinique counters and online at Clinique.com in two skin type options of dry/dry combo and combo oily/oil skin.
As quoted on BeautyHigh, one of my beauty resolutions for 2014 was to experiment with darker shades of lipstick, and upon seeing the shade “Fierce” by Red Apple Lipstick ($23.50 each), I knew it had to be on my must-have list! The brand itself certainly piqued my interest; a mineral-based formula and free of gluten, parabens, toxins, overall allergens, and soy, and Made in the USA, I like that the brand features real women wearing the various lipstick shades on the site, as well as provides application tips for a stellar pout.I found each product to as opaque, yet moisturizing as expected, and the clear Rallye Balm ($15) truly felt luxurious sliding on! The brand has great customer service and a generous return policy (return up to six months from the purchase date), while products (also includes makeup brushes, lipgloss, liners, more) are exclusively available through Red Apple Lipstick’s website.
