Kiss My Face Sun Care for 2014 with Antioxidant Defenders is AWESOME. Just plain awesome. The natural brand (and one of my favorites) encourages customers to “practice safe sun,” and with sustainable and plant-based ingredients, it’s easier than ever to make a great product choice for your body while spending time in the sun. The natural mineral sun blocking agents of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide give UVA and UVB protection, while all of the sun care items are also free of parabens, oxybenzone, and artificial fragrances. SPFs offered in the sun care category from Kiss My Face range from 15-50, however I am wildly enthusiastic about the numbers at the higher end of the spectrum, being ultra-fair and burning easily.
Arriving in spring 2014, the new products bring some great items to the table, including the Tattoo Shade SPF30, which offers anti-fade protection with green tea, Vitamin E, and carrot extract, and the Sensitive Side SPF30, created especially for those of us with sensitive skin and containing oat protein, moisturizing safflower based hydresia oleosomes for extra hydration, and the requisite green tea and carrot extract. The new air powered spray, which is convenient for getting all of those hard-to-reach spots and nourishes and soothes with chamomile, Vitamins C, E, aloe and cucumber comes in a version for kids, sport, ultra sheer, and a whipped crème lotion. Shop the new line of Kiss My Face Sun Care in the spring of 2014 at Whole Foods and online at KissMyFace.com.

La Prairie tells a truly magnificent creation story with its latest line of products, the Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream and Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil. Discovered high up in the Swiss Alps, where ice and snow canvas the entire terrain, the purple saxifrage, soldanella alpina, and Swiss snow algae survive through the harshest of winters and miraculously blossom in a bevy of beautiful shades when the spring arrives, a stark contrast to the frigid temperatures of winter’s domain. Through the amazing execution of patent-pending biotechnology, La Prairie scientists were able to extract DNA from these inspiring plants and deposit them in a way in which they can help skin protect itself from the signs of aging.

The new development for this launch, the
Swiss Ice Crystal Complex, is dedicated to preserving the renewal potential of skin stem cells, aiding in skin renewal, fortifying the skin’s defense system against oxidative stress, combating free radicals and protecting mitochondrial DNA, which keeps the cellular energy supply in place.

Fact: eyeglasses can be as MUCH of accessory fashion statement as your jewelry, watch, bag, or footwear. You just need to find the right shape, style, fabrication, and color that suits you best, since unlike the other items mentioned, you will have less of a choice regarding wearing them on an every day basis. Luckily, the prices of cool frames and lenses have come down so so much in recent years that you can easily afford to keep several pairs on hand, so go ahead and get that frivolous pair!
My favorite design, which I’ve been wearing now for seven years and looks great on every one is a slightly over sized gradient pair of shades. The gradient can be subtle or stark, and while choosing a brown, black, or grey gradient certainly makes the frames more versatile, again, don’t be afraid of a punch of bold color to make a great fashion statement.
My favorite gradient eye glasses, featured above, from clockwise:
Eyefly Blackburn Cove in Olive Gradient, $94
Derek Cardigan 7016 in Brown Pink Fade, $89
Prada PR 03QV in Red/Burgendy, $265
39DollarGlasses.comRetro Eyewear 100 Eyeglasses in cognac/blue smoke, $44
Warby Parker Zagg in Tennessee Whiskey, $95

Last night I previewed the upcoming collection from a great young design phenom who is certainly going to be one to watch (see my Instagram feed for pics). Available in select Target stores and online at Target.com starting February 9th, the latest capsule collection PETER PILOTTO, designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, brings the British duo’s sharp eye for prints and incredible design sensibility stateside for a limited time at prices that will be extremely hard to pass up.
The 70 items which range from women’s apparel to accessories and swimwear, come in at largely under $60, in a bevy of kaleidoscope and mixed prints, angular and asymmetric silhouettes, and overall reinventing the wheel when it comes to classic shapes, such as cardigans and totes. You’re certain to find the ever-classic and on-trend combination of black and white in the lineup, with some other colorful surprises to add distinction and robust definition to the pieces. Some of my favorites are found above, grouped into several categories such as beach-worthy items, skirts, and sweatshirts. Enjoy!
