Shark Week is this week, and as much as I’d like to claim I planned this post way in advance to coordinate with it, it’s merely a coincidence that this trend surfaced out of the water today! I couldn’t help but notice the dearth of shark tooth paraphernalia as of late, particularly found in necklaces ranging from options found for just $30, to in the thousands of dollars. I think the last time I bought anything shark tooth-related was on a class field trip to Sea World of Ohio in 1993, but I’m tempted to once again revisit the look as a pendant necklace after checking out some of the pretty sophisticated options available.
Which one is your favorite?

Ever since Fashion Pulse Hubby and I went to Hawaii last year on our honeymoon, I’ve been infatuated with incorporating the scents of the tropics into our lives with beauty products.
These delectable aromas, such as plumeria blossom, papaya, and coconut, are also reminiscent of the fabulous summer season and vacationing in relaxing locales; a lifestyle that I could indefinitely get used to, but become depressed every year when the crisp fall weather begins to settle in on the east coast (summertime sadness, much?). I’ll hold onto the last remnants of summer for quite a while longer this year, thanks to the new Yes To Coconuts line, which is actually THE perfect product to use going into the colder months, as it is meant to hydrate very dry skin.
The nourishing formulation is available in an expansive lineup of 12 products retailing from just $2.99-$9.99 and including must-haves such as a Curl Defining Hair Smoother, Polishing Body Scrub, Cooling Lip Oil, Eczema Relief Spray, and Body Wash. I’ve tested them all and…I really can’t pick a favorite, I love them all! All of the formulas are close to 100% natural (mostly 97%-99% natural), and are petroleum, SLS, paraben, and cruelty-free.
Shop the Yes to Coconuts line at mass food and drug retailers nationwide, such as Target.

I used to be a HUGE prints person, feeling most comfortable and confident in whatever silhouette or garment offered me an all-over design, and although I’ve gotten away from that in recent years, I still appreciate one that is quite well engineered. I swore that I would only exploit the printed pants trend once this summer, but a second pair came my way that is just so fabulous that I couldn’t resist adding it into the mix.
I think that the cut found in pants these days, a slouchier knit or weave that is more forgiving on the figure, lends itself nicely to patterning, and I’ve seen a variety of body shapes look incredible in printed pants as of late. I really really hope that this trend isn’t reserved strictly to the “the summer of 2014,” because I don’t know about you, but I’d like to stretch the look, and my new favorite pants, into at least the summer of 2015! For now, I’m going to move the look forward and into the colder months with some long sleeve blouses and longer cardigan layers.
