Fashion Pulse Flash: The Latest in Fashion, Bridal, & Activewear

I had taken a break from covering the bridal market due to how incredibly overwhelmed I had been with my own nuptials, but decided to come out of hibernation only for Bhldn! The Spring 2015 bridal trends certainly work in Grecian draping and embroidery to perfection, in a variety of styles that include strapless, caped, draped, cap-sleeved, and more. From vintage-inspired to decidedly modern, there are great well-curated options for every kind of bride, venue, and ambiance. Some of my favorite were the Catherine Deane gowns that Bhldn carries (look at the detailing on the back of this one!), but I also couldn’t resist some of the gorgeous accessories, ranging from delicate evening bags to heels, sashes, hair adornments, and a plethora of sparkly crystal jewelry.

Under $100 Beige Trench Coats

I recently donated my beige trench coat to Goodwill, as it was certainly looking worse for the wear, so this feature by Laura at LollieShopping couldn’t have come at a better time to whet my appetite and jump back into the search for a great, affordable beige trench coat. Building Wardrobe Confidence with Accessories (& Marshalls)!

If you bumped into your idol, the person you most admire, or would be star struck by today, would you be ashamed or confident in what you are wearing? I know it’s a bit of an extreme question, but one time it happened to me, and all I could focus on was what I had on, and wished that I was wearing something else, as the look wasn’t representative of me and my style.

“Networking is something you should be doing anywhere and everywhere and all day long,” shares career expert Nicole Williams. “Which is why you always want to feel good with what you’re wearing when you head out the door – you never know when you’ll meet someone with shared professional interests.”

So right you are Nicole, and although a full-on wardrobe overhaul can be daunting, I find it easiest to start off with the smaller details.

The It Accessory: Sheer Pantyhose Are Back!

I’m fairly certain that the last time I fully embraced sheer pantyhose was in the late ’90s during high school, when date dances, homecoming, and other formal and semi-formal events were strangely occurring quite often. It was always a challenge to successfully navigate them when sandals or open toe heels were part of the look, but otherwise they felt professional and made my legs look so darn smooth and skinny!

The sheer has taken a backseat to the opaque tight in recent years, but thanks to the use of them on runways and celebrities, it looks like they are certainly making a solid comeback! Go nude or go black for starters, but either way, be sure to carefully bunch them up and keep clear nail polish in your bag in lieu of a snag!
