The fashion week fatigue is already beginning to set in, and we must trudge on, fueled by the free McCafe coffee inside of the tents!
A recap of Saturday’s shows:
Karen Walker:
Karen departed from her more casual, sporty roots for a sophisticated lady with a sense of humor; working trump l’oeil details to perfection.
Richard Chai (Mens):
Most definitely a strong foray into menswear, with well-cut peacoats, duffle coats, and trench hybrids stealing the spotlight.
Verrier:
A girlish fantasy prevailed from Verrier in these dark economic times, with wonderful fashion escapism found in her larger-than-life ruffles, charmeuse, sparkling applique’, and short fur-sleeved dresses.
Monarchy:
Outwear reigned supreme at Monarchy, with everything from military-inspired to “puffy” coats walking the runway, complete with a distinctive button tab detailing on the back.
United Bamboo:
Great coats, girly jumpers, and a plethora of vintagey prints were the standouts for United Bamboo this season (not to mention a star-studded audience).
Vena Cava:
Motorcycle jackets and exposed skin aren’t going anywhere according to this designing duo, whose presentation played to both the hard and the soft sides of femininity.
