Hoping to be the first to nab an adorable pair of Sigerson Morrison bright red patent leather flats or that uber-chic Anya Hindmarch bag, we anxiously arrived at the “Bullseye Bodega” location at 57th and 6th Avenue at 11am, an hour after it had opened (see our previous article for Bullseye Bodega locations). As predicted, we were met a small crowd of people at the 57th street location, that was not nearly the pushy, chock-full of people environment we were prepared for. There were plenty of home decor items, like plush Thomas O’Brien towels, picture frames, clocks, and even kitschy garden knomes. The “bullseye” for us is the capsule apparel and accessory collections, so we headed straight to the back. There was plenty of practically untouched Converse One Star for Target apparel and footwear, and a decent rack of Jonathan Saunders for Target clothing. Even an hour into the first day, sizes were already picked over, although we did spot a top and skirt that we’d like to get when the collection comes out in early October. There were no bags or cute shoes that we saw from the Target press release; we did find thre styles of Sigerson Morrison heels, but the quality wasn’t exactly up to par, in our humble opinion.
We did walk away with a cute hand towel, and a red, foldable tote that comes with every purchase in place of a plastic shopping bag. THE VERDICT: don’t fight the crowds this weekend, and wait until the stuff hits stores/online October 5th!
