What’s Happening at FPD for Fall 2014 Fashion Week!

So many new exciting things are right around the corner!! I am dispatching an ARMY of fashion week correspondents, and per usually, my gals at Sorrelli will be helping out, turning everything that they touch into sparkle  (and check out their  Sorrelli NYFW page!).

As far as fashion week coverage goes, expect some daily outfit pics, as I will be dressing as glam as possible, despite the snow and freezing rain that’s expected to hit the area! I’ve got some great new items to wear, courtesy of Nocturne, Elaine Turner, ShoeDazzle, T.J.Maxx & Marshalls, ABS Allen Schwartz, Glasses.com, Sorrelli and Le Tote that I can’t wait to share with you!

As far as editorial coverage goes, I will:

-again be hosting the rightster.com livestream of the fashion shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, found at the top of the Fashion Pulse Daily homepage (because seeing clothes in motion is the ultimate!).

-reviewing shows we see that are of MAJOR interest

-showcasing the trends of the season from the collection (like this one, from last season)

-what great accessories attendees are wearing and those found at the shows (footwear, jewels, the works!)

–outfit photos!

-anything else we come across as cool, noteworthy, and of interest from New York Fashion Week!

What I’m Wearing This Week: A Camo Print Wardrobe Staple

While my glam and sophisticated style will kick in starting Thursday of this week, until then, I’m going to take advantage of the cozier side of dressing with this Adrian Printed Eco Fleece Hoodie, $64 and several Basic Short Sleeve Crew T-Shirt, $24 each, from Alternative Apparel. Really good basics are hard to come by, and for the past eight years, Alternative has been my go-to brand for these items, rarely ever disappointing me. The softness of this hoodie is perplexing — how do they make it so incredibly soft and comfortable?

I wear a camouflage/army print so often that it may as well be considered a basic, staple item in my wardrobe, and adding a hoodie into the mix surely compliments and completes my addiction to it; well, at least for the time being! Pairing it with a great-fitting, basic tee lets me easily dress it up or down, adding a sparkly statement necklace or set of bold hoop earrings, and pretty much always combining it with my favorite pair of well-worn jeans is the way to go.
