Fur bags are everywhere for fall, but who says you need actual fur – real or faux – to be on-trend? Anya Hindmarch’s shirred leather at Bag Snob has all the trimmings of a furry bag, but it’s somehow so much chicer.

Fall Wish List: Alexander Wang Convertible Leather Backpack (thefind.com Guest Post)
From our friends at thefind.com:
It’s funny how the act of putting a designer’s name in front of a “so-so” concept can make the idea or trend suddenly sound vastly more glamorous. For example, a backpack – not that exciting, right? In fact, it sounds rather unappealing…. unless you’re really into backpacking in the wilderness or are one of those crazy people who can’t wait for school to start up again. Leather backpack – slightly more luxe, but still not all that tempting. I mean, I’d still rather stick to my trusty satchel. But an Alexander Wang leather backpack? Suddenly a highly-covetable must-have. To be fair, even without the boy wonder’s high-profile name and design prowess behind it, the bag itself is quite awesome. Smooth, ultra-soft leather, very on-trend drawstring closure, plenty of pockets, convertible straps (so you don’t have to use it as a backpack), a hint of rocker-chic flair with exposed zippers and silver hardware, plus it comes in three versatile colors: black, gray, and a cool muted teal. The only problem is that it also comes with a hefty $850 price tag… but hey, that aforementioned designer name doesn’t come cheap!

Frye’s New Store In Soho Opens
If you love Frye boots, you are certainly in for a real treat at the brand new (it just opened this week, August 1, 2011) SoHo store! The massive yet cozy space harnesses the heritage and American roots of the brand via wooden fixtures, comfy furniture, leather and antique-inspired decor, and offers an astounding 800 SKUs of merchandise! Styles for women range from traditional boots to motorcycle shooties and flats, mens with boots to some super soft leather loafers, and children’s (small Frye) offerings that can only be described as absolutely adorable (read: tinier, brightly hued versions of adult styles). So yes, the cliche is true — there’s something for everyone!
My complimentary pick of the night was these Dorado Riding Boots in Bordeaux; a gorgeous muted red hue that reminded me of a vintage pair of boots of my mother’s from the 1970s.What’s your favorite Frye style?
The Frye Company store is located at 113 Spring St NYC in the heart of SoHo. As a fun factoid, the ceiling decor (pictured, at top) is actually made from 3000 harnesses!

8 Under $20: Papaya (CollegeCandy Guest Post)
There’s nothing I love more than a great deal. That’s why I’m always shopping the clearance racks, browsing online sales, and looking for new stores with great prices. Papaya carries wardrobe staples along with trendy styles — and it’s friendly on a college student’s budget. Along with their cute clothes, Papaya also carries shoes and lots of cute jewelery and other accessories. I’ve shopped at Papaya in the mall, but I was super excited to see they have a great website to shop from as well. Here are just a few of the great items you can get for under $20 at Papaya.-
