Just in time for the start of a new season comes a fresh way to think about your wardrobe staples from Bonobos’ new sister label, AYR, available at Shopbop. The collection perfects classic silhouettes and styles such as the jacket and shirt )pictured above) with a sturdy focus on denim, to lend a bit of casual sophistication to your weekday, or weekend, uniform. Currently, Shopbop has 15 different styles from an edited selection of denim and cozy sweaters to cropped trousers and filmy blouses that will easily meld into your existing wardrobe.
Giving these pieces a bit of a personal punch comes through for me with statement-making accessories, from a brand new watch from La Mer Collections that I’ve very excited about, to some bold flats that cater to my whimsical print sense and practical nature of a shoe in a flat form.

From here on out, every day that I don’t have wear tights is appreciated, and I know that summer will be a mere memory instead of a tangible part of daily life soon. In the meanwhile, I thought I’d share these pics that my friend Jeff took of me as part of a demo for the Fashion Blogging Bootcamp class I taught this July at LIM College. We went over to Tudor City, located close to the water in Manhattan’s Midtown East neighborhood, taking some shots in the park and on the overpass to show different lighting and angle options for the students to consider. I posed as the model, and a student told me that the pic above was the winner, as my personality shined through the most in it. Looking at these pics certainly makes me miss summer, and look forward to the next time I can wear something sleeveless in the city.

I really miss that dress, as it was one-of-a-kind, and I wish I wouldn’t have let it go several years go.

Picking a favorite outfit during New York Fashion Week isn’t exactly akin to picking your favorite child, but there’s always a diplomatic way to answer the question, i.e. “Well Sally, you’re my favorite female child,” when indeed, little Sally is the only female child in the family. So I guess what I could say is that this particular look is my favorite graphic black and white look from New York Fashion Week, as I couldn’t help but play with the strips and polka dots as much as possible, accentuated by a vibrantly-shaded hobo bag.
After about a week now at fashion week-related endeavors, comfort is king, and this dress and shoes are right where I want to be. Add a waterfall braid, a bright lip, and some opulent jewels, and I’m good to go. See you tomorrow for my final look from New York Fashion Week!
