I always want to put forth my best self, be it mentally, physically, or sartorially. No matter the activity or challenge, I want to be well-prepared and dressed for the occasion, which may involve a shoe switch or two. Pictured above is how I dressed for my trip to the Adirondacks; I was decked out in Columbia gear that was prepared to repel any kind of wetness the weather threw at me, but depending on where we were, in a town or hiking trails, all I had to do was swap out my shoes in order to blend in. From a sartorial standpoint, I feel like I’m in a very place than I was a year ago, but then again, my wardrobe hasn’t really changed all that much. My needs may have though, and the concessions that I am willing to make to look and live stylishly certainly aren’t the same. I think as I grow older, an emphasis on stylish comfort resounds, and although I have my gussied up moments, I most importantly need clothes that will move me from my work day to the weekend, from my home to a travel destination, with nary a wrinkle or blister to boot.
Speaking of boots…there’s not much that sets the tone for fall more than a new pair of boots. Continue reading…
