Pixi by Petra, the lovely line by makeup artist Petra Strand, just launched it’s spring 2014 collection and I’m going to fill you in on a secret: use at least two of these items, and you are GUARANTEED to look absolutely gorgeous. I sure did when I tested them out last, even goofing around with Petra in the photo booth (see pic below), but in all seriousness, there’s a reason why Pixi is such a beloved brand and Petra is so good at what she does: she knows what women want, need, and are actually capable of executing from a makeup perspective. Below is a breakdown of the new products, colors, and prices, and the reason why you will be remiss not to try them, all available now at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com.
H20 Skintint ($24 each): a lightweight, gel-based formulation for those days when you just want the lightest, most natural touch of color (available in Cream, Warm and Nude).
Shea Butter Lip Balm ($8 each *a Fashion Pulse favorite ): plump, protect, and nourish your puckers with a splash of fab color with this shea butter and vitamin E formula (available in Comfort Clear, Coral Crush, Honey Nectar, Natural Rose, Pixi Pink and Ripe Raspberry.

This week I gave my red locks a boost by testing out the Rita Hazan Ultimate Shine Gloss Collection‘s Red Tone formula, which works to boost shine and vibrane and in turn, prevent fading and dullness. I discovered that it’s incredibly quick and easily to apply, pumping out in the form of a foam, and only has to be left on the hair between 3-5 minutes. After a full blow dry and styling, I noticed that my hair had a brilliant luster and wasn’t weighted down; a side affect from some other glosses that I’ve tried.
You can use this to boost your hair in between color treatments, and it’s recommended to use it 2-4 times per week, although I must admit that since I wash my hair every other day or sometimes even every third day, I’ve been using it more along the lines of twice per week. Regardless, it includes great ingredients such as coconut fatty acid, panthenol and pro vitamin B5m, silk proteins, and is sulfate, paraben, and alcohol free.
Choose a color that matches yours, or go for a clear gloss meant for all shades, retailing for $26 at RitaHazan.com, Sephora, and ULTA.
