Diptyque’s La Collection 34, available now, includes a lovely array of these items, in particular with three new eaux de parfums, a limited edition Essences Insensées Eau de Parfum, three limited-edition glass candle holders, and the La Proveresse Ceramic Candle. The scents, which can be unisex (notes include Turkish rose, Safran, cumin, guaiac wood, jasmine, orange blossom flower, basil) are featured in a gorgeous flacón, purposely flashed to create the unique cracks seen throughout. I particularly love the home fragrances, which take various forms via candles, diffusers, room spray, and a scented oval, all encapsulating the curated notes of 34 Boulevard Saint Germain, created in honor of the brand’s first boutique (and its 50th anniversary) located at that very address.

For those with a penchant for paper, you’ll be thrilled by some of the 34 bazaar items, which take shape into gorgeously-printed paper that folds to reveal an envelope all in a single sheet, as well as calendars, greeting cards, notebooks, and even gift wrap adorned with designs that represent that brand’s iconic shapes and motifs. Beauty Tuesday: The NARS Steven Klein Color Collection

I’m so excited that I can finally share the details surrounding the incredible 13-piece color collection and 10-piece gifting collection between François Nars and esteemed photographer Steven Klein. Thirteen of the colors are limited edition, while two of the categories boast limited edition formulas: Killer Shine Lip Gloss and Killer Shine Lipstick. The range balances the line between bold and wearable, provocative without being overly edgy. I’ve tested the Never Too Late Single Eyeshadow, a rich olive green with a hint of shimmery metallic,  sheer enough to absolutely wear to the office, and the Killer Shine Lip Gloss in Provoke, described as a “deep Iris-purple,” a bit more opaque and staining than NARS’ usual lip gloss formula, leaving behind a bold look to wear alone, or layer over a balm or brighten up a matte lip color.

The items are already available, exclusively at NARS boutiques and NARSCosmetics.com now, while select gifting will be available exclusively at specialty stores starting November 1st, 2015.

Mastering a Runway Worthy Messy Pony with EcoTools

Christian Dior, Balmain, Banana Republic, Oscar de la Renta, Lauren Conrad, Y-3, Kate Spade New York… what do all of these brands have in common? The hair style seen at all of their spring shows were ponytails! From sleek to tousled up, high to low, and adorned with velvety ribbons or a simple elastic bungee, there’s no denying that the ponytail is the look for spring–or now! The best part is that it’s so unbelievably simple to achieve.

Focusing on my favorite version, an unfussy, fast, messy pony, I created the look with the help of some tools, starting out and finishing with the EcoTools Ultimate Air Dryer Hair Brush. This brush not only helps to dry hair 40% faster, but also is extremely gentle, perfect for the backcombing involved in this style.

In order to achieve a ponytail similar to the one featured at top, apply volumizing mousse to the hair roots and lengths, dry the hair with the EcoTools Ultimate Air Dryer Hair Brush, and add in some texture or “beach waves” spray a few minutes into the drying process. With a big barrel curling iron, loosely curl the ends in varying directions, gather, and secure with an elastic at the mid-crown. Add some dry shampoo for even more matte texture to the lengths and crown, and mess up a bit by lightly scrunching the hair. Use a distinctive elastic, like mine picture with some hardware on them for extra visual interest, or wrap the hair around the elastic and secure with a bobby pin to conceal it.

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa

After an insanely busy month, with New York Fashion Week wedged in there, I can’t help but yearn for a more peaceful, relaxing time, embodied by my experience in late August at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa in New Mexico. Situated between Santa Fe and Taos, the springs have been there for a countless number of centuries, however in 1868 the first bath house was built at the site and Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs became a pioneer as one of the orginal natural health resorts to open in the U.S.

A self-declared spa addict, I came to know about the spa based on a recommendation from my good friend Dina who used to live in Santa Fe, curious to discover for myself the health benefits of the varied sulfur-free mineral waters of lithia, iron, soda, mudd, and arsenic, as well as observe the spa culture in this part of the country.

The resort area surrounding the mineral springs was serene and tasteful, a nice mix of New Mexico flair mixed with the best of traditional spa motifs, featuring Adirondack and lounge chairs and hammocks for guests to rest in, while tiki torches were lit once it reached dusk to illuminate the largely outdoor spa areas. After taking turns in each of the pools, where 100,000 gallons a day of water steam to the surface, I literally soaked in the benefits of the geothermal mineral springs, such as relieving digestive problems, boost the blood and immune system, and help with arthritis, and skin conditions (see a detailed list here).
