There have been some wild and crazy, yet fantastical and marvelous hair creations found on the runways in Paris this season, from odd colors to morphed shapes and ornate head pieces. Below are some of my favorites, that definitely will be hard to forget (and duplicate at home):

I’ll just go ahead and say it: I love perfume. I’m not really sure when or how the obsession started, but I think I can trace it back to my Mother; I remember that she devoured bottles of Calvin Klein Eternity in the 80s, moving onto Emporio Armani, Burberry, and then even more expensive taste (Bond No 7, of course!). My Mother would never go out without splashing herself with a healthy dose of perfume at least two times, and the scent of Eternity still brings back fond memories of my youth. So somewhere along the way, I ditched my tomboy ways, started wearing jeans where you could actually see my legs, and developed my own scented preferences.
As of late, I’ve been into vintage scents and musks, counting Tuberose and Bergamot amongst the key ingredients. Even though that wiley little groundog, Punxsutawney Phil, indicated there will be six more weeks of winter (technically now down to two weeks to go!), I think it’s time to forget about the woes of winter and focus on way to rejuvenate and uplift our spirits for spring. New perfume, anyone?
I recently tried Butterfly Flower, a new scent from Bath & Body Works, and thought that it is just what is needed to set a new tone for the season. It’s an overtly feminine scent, with notes of black tea, tangerine, French mimosa, and creamy coconut milk to name a few, but isn’t overly flowery and delicate either. It does have some musk in it, which makes it a nice transition from heavier, “wintery” scents. Although it officially launches in-stores March 16th, you can currently order it online, with the 2.5 oz eau de toilette coming in at a very reasonable $29.50. Another great aspect of Butterfly Flower is that you can get it in a solid perfume form ($19.50), for touch-ups throughout the day. Thank goodness for Bath & Body Works — otherwise I would be spending a fortune on fragrance!

Yep, you read it correctly! I remember attempting to wear press-on nails to the various date dances my school held, which normally resulted in some sort of mishap. There’s now the Kiss Everlasting French Glue-On Toenails for $5.99, which will give you that manicured, polished look for your toes. I don’t know about this one – I’m all about saving money, especially on un-necessary items, but this one might be a little too excessive. I don’t think faux toenails is a direct replacement to save money instead of getting a pedicure, plus there definitley seems like there’s room for some awkward nail-losing incidents — stuck inside a sock, left in the bathtub, comes off at the beach… Thoughts?

I’ve recently been turned onto the brand Lippmann Collection, and was at first not sure what to expect; the adorable nail polish bottle design got me excited, and the shades, “PYT” (Pretty Young Thing) and “Purple Rain” (created wit Zac Posen!!!) gave me hopes of having nails in the hottest shades available. I have to admit that I am probably the best person to test endurance of nail polish; due to my around the clock typing and inability to sit still, I can barely make it two days without completely chipping the polish beyond recognition. Both the pale pink shade (PYT) and the frosty purple (Purple Rain) stood up against my rigorous daily routines, lasting way pas the normal 2-day marker. Perhaps its the green tea extracts or Biotin in the polishes that make the difference, but whatever it is, this nail-polish skeptic is impressed! Check out the collection at LippmannCollection.com, costing $15 each, which includes the celebrity nail polish collaboration colors, like the “Sarah Smile” (created with SJP), “No More Drama” (created with Mary J. Blige), or “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” (naturally, with Pat Benatar).
