Remember our post a while back about Slouchy Meets Sexy off-the-shoulder tees? Well, that post inspired talks of “makes me think of Patterson J. Kincaid” and we just knew we had to share. The brand seems to have mastered relaxed separates that at once look comfortable and chic without looking sloppy or unkempt in the least. Pieces like a classic shirt dress get the simple addition of a cheetah trim, as seen on the Maybell Golden dress in sepia (above). Or, the brand decides to give a neutral just the right touch of cool with ribbing or over-sized pockets.

For shoppers wondering how these lightweights will work with the heavy weather, just know that it’s all in the layering. Prices range between roughly $65 and $250 and you can visit www.pattersonkincaid.com for more styles and info. Let the shopping begin!

Surprise surprise, the next time you don your favorite pair of Jessica Simpson jeans, you could be helping a good cause. Multi-platinum singer, TV personality, designer, and philanthropist Jessica Simpson has just launched a new Facebook application, Show Me Your Blues, as a part of her initiative A Beautiful Me. Simpson is encouraging Facebook fans to upload a picture of themselves in their favorite jeans and each picture will raise money for charity. After filming VH1’s “The Price of Beauty“ and working with Operation Smile, a project that provides surgeries for children born with a cleft lips or palates, Simpson decided to launch A Beautiful Me in fall 2009. The initiative is an Operation Smile collaboration, and encourages young people to believe in themselves and their ability to change in the world. Simpson already has the support of her BFF Cacee Cobb, sister Ashlee Simpson Wentz and her rocker hubby Pete Wentz showing their blues. Now you can join the designer by merely uploading a pic of you in your Jessica Simpson jeans to the Facebook page, and join in as Jessica combines two passions, fashion and philanthropy, for the ultimate good reason.

While the continued descent into winter has us scrambling for scarves and hats, we can still dream about putting on beach gear and getting sand between our toes. With a little help from our friends at Nautica, Spring 2011 will have great separates: woven jackets, ruffled tops, the crinkle-finish trench, embellished shorts, and the classic striped top, just this time with a chic sparkle. The Nautica swimsuits are also getting a fresh twist in the form of a rich, deep brown added to their usual red, blue, and white color palette. The relaxed looks will work great for casual days while the touch of shimmer and hardware can transition perfectly for the bonfire on the beach. So go ahead, walk into the party like you’re walking onto a yacht!

The collection will only be sold in the Nautica online store, and will be available from January through to early April.
