Monochromatic New Mixes
I’ve always liked monochromatic looks; the difficulty and accomplishment in pairing tops and bottoms, particularly those of different brands, textures, and ages, together, and the overall sophistication of the look, which always reminds me of my time living in Italy and the nonchalance and effortlessness that Italian women seemed to possess when dressed mono chromatically. Knowing me, I ALWAYS have to provide for a pop of color somewhere, and love when I find a new color combination that just seems meant to be. I used to be obsessed with mint, but it seems that my color obsession has evolved into a more mature shade of olive. Green is my mom’s favorite color, so it makes sense that I gravitate toward it as well.
My pops of color are provided in a white handbag and lug sole of my shoes, a purple topper, but my newest and most noteworthy, in my opinion, is an orange-red lip hue I mixed together in order to just try something new. I’ve had the shades resting on my dresser, and thought that individually, they weren’t quite me, but together (orange first then red), they were just perfect. I love when those “aha!” moments happen, especially when they are very spur of the moment, like this one was.

Fashion Pulse Flash: Mother’s Day Gifts, Secret Deodorant, NARS, Dior, and more
[Stephen Dweck hand-carved turquoise earrings and braille necklaces by New York City jeweler Kemi Gandaleta of Kemi Designs]
The Accessories Council Mother’s Day event certainly evoked some general and specific gift ideas that any and every mom would surely love. Being an accessories girl myself and most likely inheriting it from my accessories-loving mom, I was really digging a variety options, ranging from reversible belts by MCM to a nautical scarf by Printed Village, hand-crafted rings by Ragini Mittal, custom handbags from 1 Atelier (made in New York City) and chic carry-alls by Be Brilliant Bags and a bevy of sunglasses from Polaroid, Pink Sheep Heiress, and Marcolin’s Swarovski Edith shades. With the holiday about two weeks away, there’s still plenty of time to find (and buy) the perfect gift for mom, and/or for those who have been mom-like in your life! Don’t forget to get a card too!

Aerosoles for Fall 2015
For fall 2015, it’s all about the bootie at Aerosoles. There are more styles than ever to choose from, with each one being more stylish than the last! Speaking of, this season is as much about style as it is about comfort, featuring a new, pointed-toe silhouette for the brand, alongside the ultra-plush heel rest technology found in the Nostalgic heel style. Modern hardware detailing that are equestrian, country, and moto-inspired take precedence, while additional adornments such as fringe and multiple zips and buckles are hard to miss. Rich, fall hues, such as a vibrant cobalt, and fabrics such as brushed suede reign supreme for the season in a collection comprised of favorites found on your feet both during the work week and weekend. See the slideshow above for some of my favorites from the lineup, hitting stores and Aerosoles.com in August.
