If you haven’t yet heard of Susan Farber, now is the time to take notice. Ahead of the curve, the designer was the first to interpret the bow trend for bags when she launched her collection in 2003 with her signature “Sofia” bag. Susan works with incredibly soft, supple, and buttery leathers to create her bags, and manages to be a wife, a mother, and run her company out of Pittsburgh, PA. Since the launch of her line, she’s branched into a variety of styes and received accolades from a slew of publications, including WWD, Lucky, Elle, and more. Plus, her bags have been spotted on the arm of celebrities such as Sharon Stone, Debra Messing, and Angelica Houston. Her bags are available at boutiques nationwide, or shop online at www.SusanFarberCollections.com.

Out of the entire pre-fall 2009 collection, this was the “stunner”, the dress that I just couldn’t get out of my mind. It has an almost apron-like overlay to it, and defines the next wave of the “gradient” trend — rather two separate colors that have a thin line that blends the two for a second, then let’s each color own its own identity. And that, folks, is fashion perfection! In fact, I think this is something Michelle Obama may want to wear…it may not be inaugural material, but adequate for a state dinner…

Without a doubt, it can certainly be a challenge to find a dress that is winter-weather worthy. Oftentimes, I just throw on a pair of thick tights under my favorite summer dresses, and off I go! The ideal winter dress, this Madeira Knit Dress, $22.80, has a knit bodice and tweed skirt portion to it, that also has a bit of wool for some extra warmth. I’m not suggesting to ditch the tights, merely to pick-up a cute winter-specific item which will give you a style, and warmth boost.
