Easy breezy sportswear is what to expect from Club Monaco for spring 2011; we loved the burnished rose hued dresses and tops, longer lengths in skirts, and utilitarian outerwear layers. Below, FPD’s favorite looks from the new collection!

Is it Possible to Be TOO Warm in a Winter Coat? Introducing the Columbia Alpine Attitude Down Jacket
I never thought the above title is something I would ever write, especially when it comes to winters in New York, but it’s true! I don’t even need a hat when I’m wearing the Alpine Attitude™ Down Jacket ($175), compliments of Columbia. I could probably get away with not wearing gloves either, thanks to the built-in
cuff/gauntlet action (see pics below). This jacket is a bit bulkier than the Reach the Peak Down Jacket, and also features Omni-Shield® with a combo of 550 fill-power down and Omni-Heat® thermal reflective technology. This jacket has more of a satiny-sheen to it, with removable faux fur on the hood, a neckwarmer-like fleece, underarm venting (great detail for outdoor sports), and of course the silvery little dots on the interior that reflect heat, as part of the Omni-Heat® signature, which makes it look way cool and futuristic! I’m loving it!
[From clockwise: closeups of the faux fur hood, the fleece neck lining and Omni-Heat interior, gauntlet-like cuffs, and me chilling outside in my fab new Columbia Coat!]
