[Wall of nail polishes at Eve, pedicure banquette, with seating for about four.]
I had never been to Eve Salon before, even though it is extremely close to NYU’s campus on 8th street in the Village in NYC. The space itself is very much a zen oasis, tiny but impeccably clean with new interiors and great service. I received a polish change and the new Sweet & Light Pedicure, and received my own set of buffers, exfoliator, files, and wooden cuticle sticks to keep (and of course bring back the next time I come) which was an approving nod in the sanitary factor of the salon. Mostly Essie and Zoya polishes can be found, which I was excited about since the latter isn’t as common to come across, and is very natural and three-free when it comes to those bad chemicals.
The complimentary pedicure I reviewed, Light & Sweet, is $40, and uses products that you can also buy separately to try at home, such as the Bella Lucce – Bali Kopi Coffee Scrub ($26.50) which really is quite aromatic and comprised of organic Ethiopian and Indonesian beans and rich coffee absolut to detoxify and exfoliate the skin, while the Farm House Fresh – Sweet Cream Body Milk ($27) is a moisturizing yet light lotion that feels nice rubbed in to the feet and calves, massage style. The pedicure also came with a cup of coffee, which at 7pm, gave me no excuse to not go home and get back to work! I would definitely recommend this particular pedicure, as well as Eve Salon for a tranquil, relaxing, and professional spa experience.

Working straight through the weekend is never fun, even during fashion week. I decided to add a dose of playfulness into an early Sunday start via a signature rainbow stripe dress that I had yet to wear, even though it’s been in my closet for a year. I guess I was waiting for the the perfect occasion, and this was it! Continuing with the theme of relatively comfy shoes, I went with one my most often worn go-tos for booties, and instead of balancing the look with too much black, I threw on a cream faux leathe jacket — that I don’t think I had worn since fashion week in September!
I spotted this isolated corner section of a deconstructed space that was used for the Catherine Malandrino presentation, and thought it was such a cool location, with great light, for an outfit photo.

Day 3 of Fashion Week was full of shows and running around, so I needed a break from my high heels and contact lenses! What I ended up wearing was a comfortable yet chic blend of reliable clothing, with a requisite pop of color

The Elie Tahari fall 2011 line showed a lot of animal, appliqué, and lace layering inspiration. If you were into the burgundy velvet from the 90’s now’s your chance to bring it back from the depths of your closet! Animal print, fur, and leather were all prevalent in the line combined with fabrics that had a light sheen, transparency or texture to them. We especially enjoyed that whimsical feeling of the sheer, flowing fabrics mixed with the dark hues and fairytale-looking hair accessories. Hair and makeup were kept minimal and sophisticated with natural warm and rosy tones on the face and hair in a low, center part ponytail. To tie in some Elie Tahari inspiration into your wardrobe, try basing your outfit around an animal print piece and layering with sheer pieces, lace or leather.
