The fashion challenge that landed on my desk this was to style some merchandise from model/entrepreneur/TV host/amazing woman Iman’s Global Chic apparel and accessories line (available at HSN.com). With the theme of creating my favorite getaway ensemble, I pulled together some lightweight Hudson Jeggings, Marc Jacobs Mouse Jelly Flats, and a chiffon top from ModCloth to compliment the shades, travel bag and pouch, and embroidered blouse given to me from the line. This weather has been ABSOLUTELY atrocious, with a sky that is perennially gray, drab, and dripping with rain, so I thought I’d jazz up my airport appropriate garb with some fuchsia tassel earrings, a great purchase that I recently got on Etsy.

I am such a sucker for a great story that accompanies a wonderful product. Eve Yen, who immigrated to the U.S. so that her children could receive a good education noticed in the early 1990s that the hot towel tradition, so common in her native Taiwan. So she started to develop her own disposable moistened towelettes to freshen up, despite dissension that it would never work. Fast forward to today, and she owns and operates two factories, one in LA and the other in Ohio were this type of product is made, manufacturing for a ton of major brands as well as her own label, La Fresh.
The brand has wipes that come individually wrapped or as a pack that range from hygiene wipes to lens cleaning wipes with sunscreen , nail care (polish remover), and even deodorant wipes for men. Their newest line to make its debut is their Eco-Beauty line, which are completely biodegradable and free from parabens, sulfates, alcohol, petrochemicals, glycols, dyes, PEGs, artificial fragrances & animal byproducts. Choose from Waterproof makeup remover, oil-free face cleanser, body soother, and healthy hand sanitizer.
Also found at La Fresh are fun little gift packs, such as the she or he-emergency kit, country trail pack, and even a pack for golfers (which is perfect for my Dad!).

When it comes to my wardrobe, I’m all about functionalism. I want each of my pieces to work in multiple outfits so I get the most bang for my buck! The other day I was browsing the Topshop website and came across a dainty little number with so much potential. The Orange Cutaway Halter Dress (yeah, real original name, Topshop), is, like you guessed, an orange, halter-style dress made of flowy chiffon. Besides the knockout color, this dress also features a stunning cutout in the chest area, giving it a sexy ’70s feel and a very thin break in the fabric on the back, which will be evident when you’re moving around. Bottom line: The dress is hot, but leaves something to the imagination!
