While prepping for my fall 2011 course at NYU, Style & Society, last week, I came across a cardstock thick, cornstarch yellow hued piece of paper that I had photocopied and saved, I think from two years ago, to share with my students so that they could analyze an example of a designer interview. I’m so glad I did, as it is like finding a time capsule, and even more ironic that it is one of my designer icons, McQueen, paired with the fact that when it comes to hard copies, I literally save nothing. I’ve made it a jpeg so that you can also have a retrospective glance at Lee Alexander McQueen, the person, in this circa 2009 ELLE Magazine q&a.

[All resort 2012 images via Elle.com]
Resort is a strange season, generally between mid-November through January/early February that traditionally catered to the jet set heading to warm locales when the rest of us had to schlep through rain, wind, sleet, snow, and the like. Now, resort has evolved to a season of practically seasonless clothes, maintaining a bright, cheery palette but also tend to be clothing that can bridge seasons and be worn throughout the year. Here, are Fashion Pulse Daily’s favorite resort 2012 pieces:

Kid Friendly, Parent Approved Sunscreen Arrives Just In Time For Summer
Growing up in Alaska, where the sun shines until the wee hours in the morning, I spent most of my childhood summers outside. I remember running away from my parents when the topic of applying sunscreen came up. It felt like a chore and I detested it. Now, I realize how important it is to have the best possible protection from the sun. The summer months are here and it is time to educate our children on sun protection and get in the habit of a SPF routine.
Inspired by his 2-year-old daughter, Andy Gershon, a music industry executive and the creator of Sunbow Sunscreen, developed a fun, creative way to encourage children to apply sunscreen. The paba-free, hypoallergenic, and safe zinc oxide formula sunscreen adorns Nickelodeon characters on the label, such as, Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob Squarepants. Children will love the way the lotion, sun stick, and spray ($7.99-$12.99) are mess-free and will go on with bright pastel colors, but will dry clear. Children will be happily sun protected and parents can be worry-free!
