Trying on makeup? Fun! Returning makeup? Not so much. The Plum Perfect app simplifies things by operating as a virtual beauty assistant, using a selfie to suggest shades that will look best with your complexion in less than a minute.
The free service goes on step further with its Girl Seeks Sample feature, the FIRST of its kind to not only use color-matching technology but also offers up samples that you can try for free or as little as $2, with no subscription commitment, so that you can ensure you have the perfect color and product for you before making a purchase. It’s a pretty foolproof way to experiment with new colors and to become introduced to new brands that you’ve never tried before, such as IMAN Cosmetics or the recently launched Jay Manual Beauty line, which is only about one year old on the market. You can also create lists if wishlist items you’d like to have, and request samples that Plum Perfect will work to procure for you. Pretty cool, right? Technology is amazing, and when you combine it with makeup sampling…the pretty possibilities are endless!
The Plum Perfect app requires iOS 8.0 or later., and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

I’ve become withdrawn from the concept of a cardigan as a topper, and rested on the idea of a super stylish jacket or blazer/jacket hybrid filling its place instead. As the weather gets warmer, I will need multiple layers less and less, but there’s no denying the temperature flux between the outdoors and chilly air conditioning indoors. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate both, but also want to be prepared for the duality as stylishly and comfortably as possible. I also can’t let the jacket fully steal the show; I like to wear sparkle like it’s my party, and I dress this way practically every day. The new Teal Textile collection from Sorrelli is the ideal summer color combination, and naturally I’m biased since it’s one of my favorite hues, and bauble brands. Although I’m not necessarily seeking it out, the statement jacket lets the world know I’m not afraid of a little attention, and the gorgeous mix of jewelry certainly reinforces that!

Have a great Memorial Day long weekend, everybody!
I can’t get over how absolutely darling these travel sized versions of IT Cosmetics‘ best selling products are! I really don’t like checking my bag, and with these perfectly mini sizes of IT Cosmetics’ all star products, I absolutely come in below the quart-sized ziploc bag’s quota. I placed business card down so that you could have an idea of how miniature these are, which make a perfect handbag mate without weighing you down. Pictured above are my favorites, the Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+($15), Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara ($12), Confidence in a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream($16), and the Tightline Full Lash Length Black Mascara Primer Mini ($10). It’s a genius idea to make mini versions of skincare and cosmetics – it just makes sense, and I don’t know what I did before without these little iterations!
