Yoana Baraschi for Spring 2013

Yoana Baraschi‘s latest collection, spring 2013 (which I previewed last week),  offers largely what you would expect form the designer with figure-flattering silhouettes in the hottest colors at prices you can totally rationalize. This season, Yoana takes a very nontraditional fabrication for spring, tweed, and breathes new life into it via fresh, neon hues, and blocking techniques. I also loved the thoughtful details such as pockets and zippers on blouses, tops, and blazers which add a stylish and functional element to the garments. Click through the slideshow above to view my top 10 picks from the spring 2013 preview.

Designer Lisa Perry and Publicolor, an organization that works with at-risk youth to canvas public and civic spaces with painted designs, has collaborated on a project that I actually got to take part in as well!
Lisa Perry’s new SPLATTER collection will donate 20% of all proceeds from its sales to Publicolor, and held an event for me to experiment with the technique get my own splatter on. I chose a white Lisa Perry makeup bag to execute my aesthetic of two-toned slightly drippy dots, rather than the mid-century artist/Jackson Pollock-inspired pieces that Perry and her team had decorated onto dresses, tops, dinnerware, bags, and more. Click through the slideshow to see the hand-created looks, as well as my piece, which I get to keep (and I think will give to my mom).  Click here to shop the Lisa Perry collection and here to learn more about Publicolor.
