Pulleez Ponytail holders , a snag-free elastic that adds a little dose of fashion accessory to the every day ponytail recently invited me to their trunk show at Henri Bendel to try out the product and get a braid (or ponytail style), courtesy of a stylist from La Voila Beauty.

La Voila Beauty is a new company that some of the best hair stylists, nail techs, and makeup artists from around NYC that will create a professional look for a client right from the convenience of their very own home. Angela from La Voila created a gorgeous braid into a low side chignon for me in under five minutes, which added a great finished touch to my somber all black ensemble that day.
I also picked out the above Pulleez ponytail holder with a flat hardware end for a DIY version of a professional finished look that I can demo at home. Pulleez range in price from about $13 to almost $50, depending on the metal or crystal adornment found on them. Makes a perfect stocking stuffer, or will look just great as an extra add-on gift, dangling from a gift bag of the packaging for a friend or family member.

[A view of the Citi Pond at Bryant Park rink against the western skyline of NYC]
If you are looking for something to do in NYC that easily evokes the winter holidays and seasonal spirit in a comfortable setting and convenient location, The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park is your spot! Nestled around the Citi Pond at Bryant Park ice skating rink (open now through March 3rd), go for a few cycles around the ice, sip some hot cocoa, and make your rounds to the holiday shops (open until January 6th) for some food and post-holiday shopping.

I was pleased to discover so many unique gifts (like those found in the Grand Bazaar, pictured above) that I couldn’t help but indulge in a few items for myself, and start in on my 2013 gifts as well! There’s something for everyone here, from the little kiddie to the ornament aficionado, the art collector, the macaron and tea lover, and the funky sock wearer. Please check out the rest of my pictures for my night at Bryant Park, a quaint oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby department stores.

Think in HD, and fabulosity, with MAKE UP FOR EVER this year, as I did when I got a taste for the amazing power of the products at the Style Coalition & MAKE UP FOR EVER holiday part a few weeks ago. I got a smoldering, smoky eye look with a twist; grey was used on me instead of black, which I think really made my eyes incredibly feminine and doe-like, while a pale peachy/coral lip complimented the look (see below for my final look). I also got color matched, and received a complimentary Pro Finish, which gives the brand’s new multi-use compact foundation launching in January 2013 ( look out for it – it’s INCREDIBLE!). Applied wet or dry, it is a sheer, yet impactful amount of coverage, blending like a dream come true and perfect for normal to oily skin.

The brand also had some great lashes, vibrant lipsticks, little pots of sparkly additions, and more for us to play with and take home. In the past, I had only tried a mascara by the brand, and now, I’m glad to have been able to stock up and love a a few more products. I’m also considering using more of the HD products, like the HD Complexion Starter Kit, for my wedding — I think I will feel confident knowing they will give me the ultimate coverage on one of the biggest days of my life! What’s your favorite MAKE UP FOR EVER item? Happy Holidays!
