NYFW FALL 2013: It’s All in the Details, Part II from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
Badgley Mischka showed softened corset-style back detailing with the shine and swoosh of crystal and fringe!
Mathieu Mirano built great linear structure into his line this season, beefing up the details with interesting fabrication and 3D ornamentation.
Michael Kors — what can I say? Such a showman, with sporty, practical, and glam options combined with sleek styling = classic, perfect, Kors.
Morgan Taylor, a salon-only high quality nail polish line launches in June, but in the meanwhile, the brand did some great work on digits at Betsey Johnson!
Adeam for Fall 2013 showed some great, thick and cozy fall pieces, accented with retro yet modern jewels.

NYFW FALL 2013: It’s All in the Details, Part I
I love fashion from an overview perspective of taking in an entire look in one fell swoop from the runway ‘sidelines,’ but more than that, I love being able to scrutinize and admire details up close to truly appreciate the artistry and design. I’m hoping you feel the same way too, and via my super duper lens on my camera, I was able to capture some great close-ups at runway shows and presentations. I’ve featured some commentary with each image; enjoy!
Amazing, luxe texture and saturated color in this fur vest, as well as in the lipstick and tinted hair at Carmen Marc Valvo
Jenny Packham proves that she can impart defined elegance to every day dressing, while dazzle with a high dose of sparkle for evening.
Packham again shows off her deft skill at the arranging of crystals and jewelry on garments; plus, I loved the simplicity of the tied bow in the hair (created by Jeannie Syfu of TRESemmé)
A favorite every season is always Mara Hoffman; great cuts and amazingly engineered prints, like the ‘cheetah skin’ pictured above, and in movement on the runway, below.

In Rafael Cennamo’s collection, everything was gold and incredibly ornate — close ups of the details do it justice, which had a slight 20’s vibe

The symmetry and colors of this Rafael Cennamo collection are a mastery of precision and cut.
Continuing with some heavy metal, gold pieces, the bracelets and hardware on this clutch at Monika Chiang are to die for!
A balance of the delicate and soft with the luxe, and warm –red-tinged fur allowed the caviar-like beading and embroidery details to peer out from this sheer dress, a big trend for fall 2013
