Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s – The Documentary

If you love Bergdorf Goodman, or just a good old American retail story, you may want to look for the closest theatre to you, showing Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s, a documentary that just came out on Friday and features the incredible history, as well as current events surrounding the world-famous store, which takes up a block on Fifth Avenue in NYC.

A highlight for me was following the the storyline and artful progression of the holiday window installation for the store; it really proved to be a more creative and thoughtful endeavor than what meets the eye. I’m just going to go ahead and say it: there a TON of stupendous pieces from American Eagle Outfitters for fall 2013! Some of the AEO pieces viewed are definitely coming down from the summer festival aesthetic, while others offer great fall weather standbys, like  a varsity-style jacket, metallic ankle-strap flats, a black moto cropped vest, and open crochet, ultra soft sweaters. Denim for fall offers softer, lighter washes with particularly detailed call-outs to seaming and knee patches, in the theme of motorcycle-styles.

A great surprise were some new takes on workout garments for both men and women, with FPD favorites including an ultra flattering peplum stretch-lace style tank with a sports bra peeking through from underneath, alongside incredibly soft, striated heather grey elastic band capri pants and a lightweight running jacket. Fashion Pulse Flash of the Week

As part of the site’s new redesign, I will also be revamping some of the categories and features. The latest newness to FPD is the “Fashion Pulse Flash” feature, which includes tiny tidbits of info so that you can get the gist of the latest, exciting fashion and beauty news and product launches, along with what I have recently experienced and loved.

Diane von Furstenberg and BabyGap: The Limited Edition Explorers Collection just hit stores and online this past week, and I went shop to shop this second installment of the GapKids + DVF Collection, exclusively for girls ranging from newborn to age fourteen, the night before it debuted nation wide. Perfectly printed, pleated dresses were a popular choice amongst the kid-friendly accessories, including sunglasses, beach balls, book bags, and even tiny espadrille ankle-strap flats. If you have a daughter in this age range, or know someone that does, the limited edition, unique pieces certainly make for a perfect gift! Prices range from $15 for small accessories to $150 for the Diaper Bag, while clothing ranges from $25 – $70.

The essie 2013 neon collection, which just came out as of yesterday (May 1), features six fabulous new shades (plus a white option, “blanc,” featured above) to get you in the mood for some wild nights in your near future! We’ve been adding neon accents to our clothing and accesories for several seasons now, so it’s high time that our digits get the same treatment. Plus, at $8 per bottle, you can snap up a few of these life of the party shades in names such as “dj play that song,” “bouncer, it’s me,”  “shake your $$ maker,” and “bottle service.” Essie recommends using a base of , then a coat of white to really let the neon blast through, followed by two coats of the neon shade of your choice, finished off with a top coat.
