Neoprene this, neoprene that; but what exactly IS neoprene? It’s a man made, synthetic material that closely resembles the look and feel of rubber, and the past several years has been hitting a crescendo on the fashion scene, also referred to as “scuba material,” or you may see it on the garment tag as polyurethane. It is hot, hot , hot right now, appearing more so than ever before on the runways, and so I’ve provided a few designers and shapes that it’s taking for fall 2014.

Although the gold represented Diane von Furstenberg‘s 40th anniversary, she wouldn’t have put out a handful of gold cocktail dresses unless she flelt they were absolutely au courant, like this stunner worn by Karlie Kloss.

Day 7!!! I finally felt well enough to ditch my glasses for the day, running all over the town to cover a bevy of backstage beauty looks, and doubling up on my jackets, because it is literally so cold outside, that it cuts through everything! I had a moment to take pause at the TRESemmé Styling and Trends event, capping off the evening and getting the breakdown on runway and red carpet looks from stylists Jeanie Syfu and John D., with commentary by TV personality and host Louise Roe!
I also learned about the new 7 Day Keratin Smooth line, which lasts through three shampoos/up to seven days, which will keep your hair shiny and frizz free, which is basically, fashion week-worthy hair! Apologies that my photos are a bit dark; we were in the very cool, however slightly cavernous Landmarc restaurant at Columbus Circle.
Here’s what I wore for Day 7, which heavily revolved around staying warm:
