There’s nothing quite like Leonor Greyl, a brand that combines simple French sophistication with natural botanicals for stellar results. If you have curly hair, you are in luck with this trio of products that arrive on the tail end of this harsh winter that tried to wreak havoc on your tresses.
Let’s start with the Bain Restrucurant à la Banane ($36; pictured above) ,which is an ultra lightweight liquidy shampoo with a lovely banana aroma that use plant extracts, protein, and keratin to smooth and repair. The Spray Algues et Fleurs ($28) helps to reshape and form the curls’ natural beauty while infusing the hair with seaweed, flower extracts and collagen for bounce, strength, and to soften, while the Masque a L’Orchidée ($65) is that deep treatment that you crave once a week for icnredible shine and repair. Smooth it into damp hair and comb through, leaving on for approximately 20 minutes, but adjust according to your hair length, type, and extent of needs. Purchase these, along with other luxurious Leonor Greyl products at fine salons nationwide, at Saks.com, and at LeonorGreyl-USA.com.

Are you ready to rethink hair cleansing? Unwash thinks that it’s time to turn the concept on its head, and recently introduced a trio of products that help to balance and gently cleanse hair to work with the hair’s natural beauty instead of attacking it with chemicals and drastic changes. More akin to a conditioner than a shampoo, the Unwash Bio-Cleansing Conditioner is your first step in the process, which replaces shampoo while still removing dirt and infusing moisture. Next, the product intended for an occasional, deeper clean is the Anti-Residue Rinse, which is intended to work on removing the build-up caused by repeated use of styling products. Last, the Hydrating Masque can be used about once a week to hydrate, soften, and smooth out the frizz while restoring body and shine. All Unwash products are free of harsh sulfates ans parabens, great for color-treated, and really any hair type and texture. Unwash retails from $32-$36 each, and can be found at the brand’s website and at Amazon.com.

My childhood best friend, Jamie, and I are heading to Tennessee for an action-packed long weekend, and I can’t wait to get there. Being city slickers, we don’t have any pure country gear to wear, but I imagine we may pick something up along with way. In the meanwhile, I’m wearing in these booties, which have a touch of country twang with a lot of metropolis cool in the mix. To work, they look great with opaque tights and a jersey dress, but down south, I think it’s going to be more of a jeans situation.
In all honesty, I’m hyped to do some shopping, but most excited for the food that we will eat, as NYC BBQ certainly can be tasty, but I hear Memphis is were we definitely need to go to authentically chow down. If you’ve been to (or are from) Memphis or Nashville, any and all shopping and food suggestions are welcome! In the meanwhile, here’s how I’m sporting my Tennessee accessories in anticipation of the trip.

It was very, very cool to meet Christina Hendricks last night, the newly announced Clairol’s Nice ‘n Easy Hair Color Ambassador, and most recognized for her role as Joan Harris on “Mad Men.” She was absolutely lovely, as was her new hair shade, going from a vibrant red to a softened glowing, slightly strawberry hue with Nice ‘n Easy Permanent Color in 8G, Natural Medium Golden Blonde (see here for a red/blonde before/after on her). Both my mom and I had gone even blonder in our early twenties with Nice ‘n Easy (we used the 101 blonde shade back then), so it was nice to hear that the brand has a whopping 45 natural shades, and retails for only $7.99; pretty great! Her color transition looks so great in tone and highlights, that I’m thinking that perhaps I should #ShiftaShade too!

During New York Fashion Week, I was lucky to able to spend some additional time with TRESemmé hair stylists to personally use its newest products, as well as see them in motion backstage at several shows. The new Perfectly (un)Done collection, Get Sleek, Max the Volume, and Make Waves handle a variety of hair needs for contemporary styling possibilities. Some of my absolute favorites include the Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray ($6.99), Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creating Sea Foam, Get Sleek Blow Dry Balm, Max the Volume Root Lifting Cream, and Make Waves Shaping Gel Cream. I don’t know what’s better; how effective TRESemmé’s new hair product lineup is, or that everything comes in at under $7! Which product are you most excited to try?

AG Hair Care recently launched a dry shampoo category, with four options that include Simply Dry Shampoo, along with three others that include root-boosting color components for quick touch-ups in between coloring sessions. I’ve been using the Simply Dry sine finding a color match for red is always a challenge, and am pleased with the results, adding the right amount of absorption power and texture to my fine tresses. AG’s Dry Shampoo comes in a travel size 1 oz version for $8.95 at Ulta, while the full size version is $28 each.
