The Show: Moncler GrenobleThe Theme: Outerwear Essentials
The Color Palette: Black and white.
About the Collection: Moncler Grenoble’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection showed just how stylish and fun winter coats can be. The show itself consisted of fifteen rows of four models stacked on top of one another in a grid and a group of opera singers on pendulums serenading the audience with atonal sounds. Models were clad in black and white jackets, vests and snow pants, accessorized with round white sunglasses, huge fur hats and white fur wrist-cuffs. Even the opera singers wore Moncler down-filled mourning jackets. Moncler Grenoble makes us wish longingly for the white fluffy, photo-worthy precipitation, even while we’re still trudging through this season’s snow and slush.
The Show: Alice and Olivia
The Theme: “Enchanted: A Midwinter Night’s Dream”
The Color Palette: Metallic, deep red, jewel-toned blue and green and mustard yellow
About the Collection: Alice and Olivia by Stacey Bendet for fall 2014 had a Victorian-era fairy tale theme, with models dressed in sharply tailored ensembles including flared mini-skirts, bohemian dresses, long jackets and the new denim trouser. There were heavy, luscious fabrics from intricate brocades to luxurious velvets, silky metallic and exotic furs. Stacey Bendet said of her collection, “This season is about sexiness and fantasy-luxury and decadence in a wearable way.” What an irresistibly exciting collection, and we’re looking forward to seeing it come to life next season!
The Show: Zang Toi

About the Collection: Zang Toi’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection transported the viewer back in time to the elegance of the 1930’s. Models wore silky evening gowns, cashmere suits, brocade suits and oversized furs; with hair in waves typical of the era. The colors were stunning, especially the contrast between the brilliant shade of green and deep black fabrics. The silhouettes were fitted and feminine, resonating with Zang Toi’s signature evening wear comfort zone.
